India bolsters NE defence - a threat to BD?

.
To all my BD and Indian friends....

Just go read the news again (in :pdf:) and THEN read the comments the pakistani, chinese and indian posters there are giving. There was not even a slight mentioning about bangladesh in that particular article....and the two countries to which it was directed ie. pakistan and china.... none of the people there are worried or tensed about the news. Some friends there even agree that Gen Lamba and Gen Kapoor was over-estimating Indian capability. Off course, they are capable, no doubt, but many posters critisized why they made it public and complained about the show-off nature of their confidence.

And most important thing, the posters there..... most of the indian, pakistani and chinese friends are all talking about brotherhood and peace in the sub-continent (off course there are few exceptions) and the last thing that anybody wants is a war.....you guys please refer to post no. 29 especially, which i found particularly touching, written by an indian.

http://www.defence.pk/forums/bangladesh-defence/india-d...rmy-chief.html

And please take time to read some comments made by the posters there.....i dont understand that when the people in the countries possibly going to be involved in war are not tensed or crying about it, why on earth are we BD members debating on this topic.....why do we always ASSUME/PREDICT that a war is happening between india and bangaldesh. Whilst the people from countries where the war is possible are talking about peace and no war. Please cant we just come to our senses and realize that something like that is not going to happen......

I know after this reply, still i will have posters storming at me...but people please think about it for a moment.... we ALWAYS everywhere add "IF" to a hypothetical threat/danger and start discussing about war, history, results.....if so, then why cant we just add that "IF" and say "...a war does not happen, hopefully our next generation will get a good world to breathe in......"

All the posters are openly welcomed to refute....but i am happy i cleared whats actually in my mind....

Peace....

Cheers!!! :lazy:

We don't need to bolster our north east defences to counter any fictional Bangladeshi threat. This development is related to china.
Certainly BD is not a threat to the NE, but the Indian buildups can be considered a threat to BD.

yes to some extend .cause a military built up to counter usa by china is helping itself to dominant the its neighbor particularly India .likewise India built up of military to counter china is boosting itself against Pakistan ,.

so military built in NE is threat if it directed to BD . but , i don'nt see that in coming future cause we have good relation with your goverment .and bangladesh cannot afford to offence India

Bangladesh is a nation at peace with all of its neighbors except Burma which is in any event a pariah nation at the moment. Bangladesh's foreign policy of staying out of the limelight and working on its economy is the best. India IMO will never think of attacking Bangladesh. There is simply no strategic or economical benefit in doing so

Well in that case you are heading for a rather sleepless nights , mate.
For one i dont know *how* you will counter this so called threat?
Second, this will be a ongoing process. The NE side will recive a major thrust in up-gradation in coming years. How will you keep up?

You may not like me for saying, but even today you dont have any credible defense against any Air Aggression by India (forget land forces).

How so? since whatever the build up is mostly limited to border around Tibet and not BD.

No disrespect meant & not that it will ever happen, but India does not have to build up to be a threat to BD.

Countless time.
Your  BSF shoots our innocent civilians. ;)

So BDR is wearing bangles?

If you are so obsessed with BSF why not to do an all out war with India and reach Delhi?

Problem is solved once for all.

Your innocent civilians do anti-India activities and cross Indian borders without authorization.

This is how uninvited guests get welcomed in India.

India bolsters NE defence - a threat to BD?

As other members have already mentioned, this move is China specific.

Until and unless Bangladesh remains within its limit this is not a threat.

The moment BNP or someone else in BD gets a feeling that present day BD is a WWII era Germany and present day India is WWII era France hell will be unleashed.

In that case, hell yes this will be proven a major threat to BD.

It is a threat to Bangladesh both in military and in strategic terms. If one recall during Peelkhana massacre india moved its air force and special forces asset close to Bangladesh borders into these forward bases. This indian posture may not be Bangladesh centric but DOES have implication on Bangladesh. Firm stands from Bangladesh on any maritime or border dispute or even in internal situation, india will try to use these forward bases in NE to put pressure on Bangladesh.

India being a big country with over million man force, opposes even Bangladesh raising its special forces. But Bangladesh with smaller defense capability should not worry about indian build up?? I, like many would not accept that line of understanding.

Unfortunately many people are agnostic to defense and strategic matters and thinks less of these threats. Big question is how Bangladesh would neutralize such threat in time of needs??

Can you elaborate on this ?

Not me, u r obsessed.

Who will believe. It is you people do anti-Bangladeshi activities and not our farmer or cowboy which is known to all.

This is how uninvited guests get welcomed in India.
