India being a weak democracy cannot tackle problems all by itself.-this statement comes in the way the indians have reacted post 26/11
if 26 /11 is compared to us 9/11 and the way US acted after that we see atotally different approach by india which has attained no results till now.
what can be indias long term goals.?

how can this be explained?

It's simple - the Indian govt is under intense pressure by the US to NOT take action against Pakistan. You see, Pakistan is vital for supplying US troops in Afghanistan and any breakdown in the supply route would trap the US there. So we Indians have to play nice again and not retaliate over the attacks.

Can someone please explain why Indians refer to Mumbai Siege as 26/11??

09/11 = September / eleventh
11/26 = November / twentysixth

So how does it become 26/11??

Only similarity here is the number 11....

India uses the British system of dating ie, dd-mm-yy, instead of the American mm-dd-yy. So Nov 26 becomes 26/11 not 11/26.

I still use the dd-mm-yy system although it confuses the Canadians around me :P

Going by this logic 9/11 becomes 11/9...but even the British refer to it as 9/11.

I wouldn't say so .. cause had India shown proof to the world & US .. it would have been supported by US .. yeah the same US who gave nuclear know how to India but refused to anybody else since last 50 years.

Earlier even US was supporting surgical strikes by India but it seems in the last week, they have started to do a "u" turn, apparantely because after a lapse of near 1 month, the world has seen no concrete evidence against Pakistan ! or it might be that the world is a bit apprehensive of usual Indian claims like seen in 2001 / 2002 Parliament attack wherein India claimed the world and later on neither in the case of "afzal ' (the caught terrorist who belonged to Indian held Kashmir) Pakistan was never mentioned and later their own PM said the proof was unclinching against Pakistan !

Sheesh, what more proof do you guys want? The terrorist Kasab himself has admitted he is from Pakistan, your very own media, including Dawn have investigated the story and admitted it themselves.

But I suppose that is off-topic. Can you provide a source for alleged US support for Indian surgical strikes in Pakistan? The reason US does NOT want an India-Pak war is because it needs the Pakistani forces on the Afghan border and protecting its supply routes.

I think India should support US's position here, since US winning the Afghan war is in India's interests. One war at a time:D.

So what..... your obsession with 9/11 compels me to quote it for you. Who were the attackers...Saudis, who was the financer...Saudi, who was the deputy....Egyptian.... who was attacked...... Afghanistan and Iraq. Even if for arguments sake, we agree that kasab, kasav, azam, amir, ajmal whatever he is, actually is Pakistani, then what.... does that give you right to demand extradition of people who were allegedly guilty of some old crim???? who in the list is related to mumbai incident????? when you have not even completed your own investigations, how can you claim to have complete evidence pointing Pakistan???? Has the case benn proven in a court of law????/ Has india provided Pakistan with any proof against any of its citizen related to mumbai incident against which Pakistan should hold a judicial case?????? Pakistan has Sarbjeet Singh, a RAW terrorist convicted for bombing in Pakistan so Pakistan is rightful in asking india to dismantle its terrorist infrastructure???? Pure and simple BS. Reasonable people should not give in to these frothy arguments forwarded by light weight indian media.

Makes Pakistani job easier too...... think over it.

Hafiz Mohammed Saeed is directly linked to the Mumbai bombings as he is the commander of the LeT. Now that Kasab himself admitted to being from LeT, why is the Pakistani govt refusing to prosecute Saeed or extradite him? He's placed in house arrest, a joke.

Dawood Ibrahim was linked to the 1993 Mumbai blasts and is not even a Pakistani citizen, he is Indian. Why, then is he allowed to have a comfortable life in Karachi?

If Pakistan can provide any proof that a terrorist infrastructure exists in India, by all means demand dismantling.

Of course it does, no doubt but having US lose in Afghanistan is even better for Pakistan, since it will regain its so-called 'strategic depth' once US/NATO withdraw. A US win in Afghanistan will ensure a neutral, if not pro-India regime in Afghanistan, while a loss would mean the return of Taliban, who supported terrorism in J&K.

You have unwittingly answered yourself in your own post. If Saeed is linked to the terrorist attack then provide us the evidence for litigation against him because nowhere in the world it is possible to hang somebody without conviction by court. If house arrest is a joke, then why dont you hang kasab without trial as per the demand of Thackery(the terrorist). If you can't hang him without due legal process then why should you expect us to hang Saeed without proving the case against him?????/ Or do you think that law of the jungle applies just across the neighborhood. Did you hang afzal guru yet???He attacked indian parliament after which your country created a big fuss??? Can you please let me know whether india has been to prove its case against Pakistan??? You had evidence then and tried him in indian court not in Pakistani one for that matter.
As far as Dawood is concerned, it is big fishes in your own country that don't want him to be extradited. dont believe it, just see my thread on the subject which quotes a neutral american foreign policy journal article to prove how indian establishment and CIA connection has prevented his arrests. Your claim about him being in karachi is like Osama being in utah or arizona for a pleasure trip. Just think, if even you and i know that he is in karachi, you consider 93 bombing mastermind being stupid enough to be still lying there on his back?????? Come on, being simplistic doesn't work...... Well, i dont think your government is as gracious as you are in talking about dismantling terrorist infrastructure against Pakistan because it involves RAW....... evidence, i just mentioned Sarbjeet Singh, Kashmir singh was released by Pakistan and three others recently nabbed after yesterday blast in Lahore. Many more not known to me.....

Whatever suits you or may i say soothes you.
