India becomes part of regional trading bloc despite Chinese opposition

I feel the dire weakness of Chinese system is that good policies from central government will not be implemented in local levels due to lack of check and balance at local level. The central government has good enough check and balance that will take into account various interest groups, but powers at local governments are too concentrated.

China's current system, in essence, is very similar to the cabinet system during Ming dynasty, and also with very similar problems.

Had been reading about the form of Chinese governance however was not aware of its shortcomings. Can you tell us more about the problems of the system?

As an outsider for me the system seemed solid with only corruption seeming to be a problem.

.
Is this required? Every system has its disadvantages and advantages. As far as starving child is concerned, read about the proposed Food Security Bill. The problem is we are spending money on feeding them but we are not spending enough on teaching them how to feed for themselves.

Yes. hope you can solve the problem. BTW, you should spend more money on living strandard and so shall we. But I doubt the effectivness of your commissariat or better to say food supply. I heard that corruption in India is equivalent, will they keep some of the supply fund for themselves? just curious

This weakness is also present in the Indian system if 100 Rs gets granted via a central government policy only 1Rs reaches the target due to rampant corruption at all levels.

Yes that is one big point of worry the food allotted might end up getting stocked in storage houses of middlemen and be sold at a higher price to the middle class.

I wonder how the government will track that problem.

1) India has positive trade deficit with ASEAN and the future us India+ ASEAN as far as production is concerned.

2) This alliance has the potential to become a military block in future except China.

3) Japanese will be the biggest beneficiary of this block as they are shifting their companies from China.

4) The block which has emerged can also be called as maritime cooperation in Indo - Pacific rim.

5) The trade connectivity between India and ASEAN will be done at a quicker pace from now on.

6) Tourism industry from ASEAN and other countries will boom in India in Buddhist sites, India will earn revenue.

Mindful of the interests of several Asean countries in South China Sea, India also came out in support of the demand for a code of conduct to avoid any conflict in the disputed region. "We urge all parties concerned to take forward these discussions towards adoption of a code of conduct in the South China Sea on the basis of consensus,'' foreign minister Salman Khurshid said at the 20th ARF meet in Brunei.

"We oppose the use or threat of use of force. We hope that all parties to disputes in the South China Sea region will abide by the 2002 Declaration on Conduct in the South China Sea and work together to ensure peaceful resolution of disputes, in accordance with international law, including 1982 UNCLOS,'' he added.

India is committed for free navigation and implementation of UNCLOS in SCS

.
According to government sources, there were certain issues raised by China over India's participation but Beijing had no option but to acquiesce after it noticed popular support for India.

 UNSC permanent seat shall be next in line

This is a total lie. China has always supported this bloc and wanting to expand so that it can rival the US-led TPP. India needs to stop being paranoid. China wanted India in this bloc from the start, whoever says otherwise is trying to stir up trouble.

.
It paves the way Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and other South Asian nations to join the bloc, China has no reason to oppose.

Much like the whole dorment SAARC joins in. Good move.

India will most probably be the only south asian country to been given this privilage because it is the closest south asian country to south east asia thanks to north east india and A&N islands as well as the vast historic and cultural ties(mainly due to dravidian and buddhist culture) it shares with many ASEAN countries.
I don't think other south Asian countries will find it this easy joining this group

If whole SAARC becomes part of this organisation,it'll improve economy of SA countries. but it'll be a big blow to the countries which has less developed domestic industries..also,tariff reduction is also a concern for India..there are risk of market flooding cheap and substandard products..but it'll really benefit smaller countries

India feels the heat of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership trade talks - The Times of India

by the way, another nice article on it...

Yes but our political system is not that favorable as yours that is why we lag behind. I like the Chinese political system and how the leaders are selected and how they make their way to the top right from the grass roots.

That system will certainly keep China on the top.

Has nothing to do with the political system. European countries are mixed economies, with the Nordics teetering close to socialism. China is a state-capitalist country with authoritarian controls. United States is a more libertarian-esque mixed economy with much smaller public expenditures than Europe. Korea and Japan are Eastern democracies that mix large business conglomerates (chaebol) with smaller entrepreneurial one's.

Political/economic system matters only to a certain extent.

India is a democracy with a social welfare system and economic system that fits within the profiles of many of the nations above.

At this point, it all has to do with Human capital.

Democracy! Congratulations, the best sysem of the world, what else do you want? We are all defeated by your starving child democracy system! We admit that your system could solve the problem such as hunger, illness without doing anything but boasting boasting~~~forever

Why doesn't China embrace the Singapore model? This would be amazing, don't ya think, even better than now.

Funny thing: China has a larger GDP than all of ASEAN and South Asian combined, multiplied by 2..

.
An economic partnership organization mired in political disputes and members support each other in opposition to China? I doubt this so called free trade organization will go anywhere. You never want to mix economic cooperation with political bickering. Very very bad move.

THANX FOR THAT.....

Never heard of this organization..:what:

I THINK CHINESE DOCTORS ARE WEAK IN SORTING OUT PROBLEMS OF EAR........

good suggestion. As far as I know, China has adopted some Singapore system in 1990s, but I cannot remember what it is...
As for Chinese central government and top leaders, they prefer establishing experimental reform areas with diffenrent themes. These reform areas are designated diffenrent task and policy advantage. They are encouraged to conduct reform in specific areas.
For example:
Financial experimental reform area in Wenzhou where private borrowing sector is vibrant.
International trade comprehensive reform areas in Yiwu.
Economical natrual resources development experimental area in Shanxi where coal resources are threat to environment.
National new industrialization experimental area in Shenyang where industry is firstly developed in China.
Central economic area where agricultural industry is of high importance to the food supply of China.

There are 20+ these experimental areas in China now.

Chinese politicians are trying to reform in essential areas but they do not want to carry out and apply the same policy to the whole country where different development situation exists.
But I think the progress is too slow, they should be more confident and aggressive.
