another interesting observation. correct me if I am wrong, Hindu is a multi-God belief, yes?
Reflecting this mentality into Indian architecture, that's why one can see so many repetitions of similar architectural sub-elements combined to make one.
While in Christianity and Islam, there is only one the only. So one may not expect Indian type of architectures in the West or in Islamic countries.

well I don't know whether it is True or Not... but Some People says tht... Important Monuments like Taj Mahal, Redd fort and some other Building and Temples in South have Gold Plated on them.....

Although on Temples we can still See tht in Western and Southern..

But For Taj Mahal and Red Fort it is said tht Be4 going English burn those Buildings .... so tht Gold get melted and they able to scratach it....

Happened after failure of 1857 mutiney... When English took control of Delhi...

Malayalees across the world celebrates Onam. The festival is the harbinger of spring — signalling the start of the harvest season .



Onam is undoubtedly the most spectacular festival of Kerala. One needs to experience its magnificence in person. Reading books, watching pictures or trawling net simply cannot present Onam in its entire splendor and breathtaking vistas.It is a harvest festival and is celebrated with joy and enthusiasm all over the state by people of all communities.Carnival of Onam lasts from four to ten days. First day, Atham and tenth day, Thiruonam are most important of all.Elaborate feasts, folk songs, elegant dances, energetic games, elephants, boats and flowers all are a part of the dynamic festival called Onam.
According to a popular legend, the festival is celebrated to welcome King Mahabali, whose spirit is said to visit Kerala at the time of Onam.

Pookalam

Pookalam is an intricate and colourful arrangement of flowers laid on the floor. Tradition of decorating Pookalam is extremely popular in Kerala and is followed as a ritual in every household during ten-day-long Onam celebrations.
Pookalam are usually circular in shape and multi-tiered colourful arrangements of flowers, petals and leaves. Use of powder colours, desiccated coconut or artificial flowers is prohibited. Pookalams are normally laid on the front court yard of the house.Ritual of making the flower mats continues for all ten days of Onam.Various flowers are used on each day as a specific flower is dedicated to each day of Onam.

Onasadhya

Onasadhya is the most delicious part of the grand festival called Onam. It is considered to be the most elaborate and grand meal prepared by any civilisation or cultures in the world. It's a feast which if enjoyed once is relished for years. Rice is the essential ingredient of this Nine Course Strictly Vegetarian Meals. All together there are 11 essential dishes which have to prepared for Onasadya. Number of dishes may at times also go upto 13. Onasadya is so elaborate a meal that it is called meals, even though it is consumed in one sitting.

Vallamkali(Boat race)

'Vallam' or boat are no ordinary boats and there are fixed measurements to it. It is about 100 feet long and has a seating capacity of 150 men. The boats are usually made of anjili (Artocarpus hirsuta), though sometimes teak and kadamb (Naucleacadamba) wood is also used. The curled ends of the boats are shaped like cobra hoods and it is from this shape that boat has derived its name. Each boat is meticulously crafted by skilled craftsmen and a lot of patience and hard work goes into making and decorating it. The boat is treated as a deity and a holds a lot of emotional value for the village folk. Only men are allowed to touch the boat that too with bare feet.

Thiruvathirakali

Thiruvathirakali is an extremely popular folk dance performed by the maidens of Kerala. It is a group dance and is mainly performed on the occasion of Onam. Women, both young and old submerge themselves in the spirit of the occasion and dance with perfect ease.Dress code of Kaikottikali is hugely impressive as women folk neatly attire themselves in a typical Kerala style. They wear gold bordered traditional two piece cloth called mundu and neriyathu; A mundu is a one piece cloth draped on the lower part of the body while neriyathu is worn over a blouse.Women also beautifully tie their hair in a form of bun. A fragrant jasmine garland on the bun further enhances the charm of the dancer.

Pulikali

Pulikali is a popular folk art performed during the Onam season. In Pulikali a group of performers paint their whole body in the likeness of tigers and wear tiger mask. They prance about, dance and move like tigers. The tigers are accompanied by a hunter and a drummer. The theme of the play is tiger hunting also called kaduvakali .
