India bans imports of refined palm oil, most of which are from Malaysia

There is no inherent demand for palm oil. It's just one form of oil albeit a bit cheap.

You think people can smuggle into India at price lower than organized oil sector. It's not like palm oil is completely banned. We'll just route it from another country mostly from Indonesia.

As a matter of Fact, palm oil is one of the most unhealthy oils used for cooking.

If you can afford it, stick to coconut oil or Olive oil.

Even rice oil is better than palm.

Palm oil is highly price sensitive. Here in India, price of refined palm oil is about 5 rupees less than sunflower or rice brands oil. Its difficult to do re-exporting within that margin. But they can try. We'll not loose sleep if they want to loose money.

When there is no oil importer allowed price will go up and it will be smuggled from where ever they gets their hands on nepal is more suitable for smugglers and who will stop when everyone make money from under and over the table.

Malaysia should ban imports from India too. There are many Bharti who buys Indian only products in Malaysia. Let these clown bhrti loose some money too.

And malaysia can buy same products from Pakistan i am sure if indian can copy roh afza and other spices of Pakistan . Then we can do the same trick if indian buy on indian products from malaysia.
