India Assam: Will four million people really be deported?

Here in the forum Bangladeshi members were celebrating the raising bangladeshi Muslim population in Assam and dreaming about Bangladeshi Assam in future as we seen in many past threads ..The people who are confirmed not citizens of India should be given permission to work for five to ten years and then should be deported as per law ..The porous border should be sealed .
We are still celebrating! Because even after this NRC drama is over, muslim would still be 31% of assam's population.Disfranchising 2 million(after final draft) muslim will only reduce Muslim percentage from current 34% to 31% of assam's population. And they would still be multiplying at a faster rate than assamese hindus. So the core problem for assamese ultra-nationalist would remain the same.Actually this NRC exercise handed the *** to the assamese ultra-nationalist's hand by recognizing that more than 80% muslims in assam are genuine citizen. From now on assamese xenophobe have to be content with the agitation to expel only 2 million or so muslim leaving behind 10 million muslim strengthen with legal recognition in assam's soil.

Assam never had higher living standard then Bangladesh but West Bengal had.
Yes it was higher than national avg in 1951 ,
From that period to 2011 apart from Assam Indian Muslim population grown four times but Assamese Muslim population grown 5.5 times ..Those 2.5 to three million excess and another 1 to 1.5 million Hindu Bangladeshis are contributing to this list .

.
Those with spellings etc shall be corrected , its not an issue.

The voter lists shall get updated in due course as they routinely are before elections

From 1951-71 muslim population in Assam infact declined. iN 1991 increased to 28%. From 1971-1991 it had 77% growth while muslim in other region had 71% growth that is almost similar. From 1991-2011 it increased to 34% due to higher fertility rate and young population among muslim.

In NRC there are 2.2 million hindus and 1.8 million muslims are left out. Muslim number could be even smaller. But most of the name missing are women and children whose name will eventually included. Not more than 2/3 lacs muslim name will be excluded from my own understanding. This is quite normal for floating poor people.

Till 1971 there were muslim migration from Assam to E. Pakistan and hindu migration from E. Pakistan to Assam. So the growth rate was subdued.

The possibility of those immigrants who do not feature in this data but are still living in India without ID proof contributing to the list is another variable ..

I hope things turn out really in this ways.It will be the ultimate slap on those xenophobe's faces.

But these are not enormous numbers as projected ..These kind of economical immigration is natural but in these turbulent times of terrorism this issue becomes of national importance ..Better to solve this rather than blowing it out of proportion ..

These kind of economical immigration
You are insulting the entire mainstream economic thinking by propagating this lie.Immigrant flow to the places which has substantially higher living standard, labor shortage and employment opportunity, big industrial urban center, flourishing economy, welcoming host etc.None of these parameter are true for assam. It is a poor, backward state, very rural and has excess rural labor, assamese are themselves migrating on western and southern India in large number due to lack of opportunities at home, depressed economy compared to Bangladesh, hostile population. So tell me why a Bangladeshi migrant would choose assam?

During the 19th and early 20th century assam was thinly populated and a lot of virgin land was available then.So a substantial peasant migration to assam occured from East Bengal under the British patronage then. But that bonanza is long gone. Now per capita wise assam is a agricultural land poor state in India. So there is not a single incentive for a Bangladeshi muslim to move in assam over the past 50 years. Some Bangladeshi hindus moved there due to partition. But this hindu migration is also lower than predicted. Many hindus from Sylhet region from Bangladesh which is next to assam choose rather west Bengal and Calcutta than assam.Read the Jaya Chatterjee's book on this subject.Because even migrating hindus considered living standard and emplyment opportunities to be better in distant Calcutta than nearby assam. So it is ridiculous and defy any economic logic that millions of Bangladeshi muslims have migrated to assam in the last 47 years.

BD as possible and they shoved in 1 million
We probably wouldn't deport them all together. But will make life difficult. Without ration, any ID they probably wouldn't stay longer and go back. :)

Bangladesh has very strong citizen register with biometric information including regular updates. Their life will be even harder in Bangladesh. No question of Bhujpuri coming to Bangladesh. People will haunt them out of Bangladesh border.

Dudh ka dudh pani ka pani ho jaiga...

It is high time we started arming Assamese Muslims unless this was done already. Rest of the events will fall together as planned.

haha who cares how they live there. We don't want them coming up in our national population register nor in our elections.

You are deluded if you think they can trespass into Bangladesh without anyone noticing. For more then 4 decades, Rohingyas were subjected to most extreme form of persecution and deprivation in Rakhine by burmese military. But Rohingyas could not entered into Bangladesh unless we let them into. Now preventing any infiltration from assam will be much easier. Thanks to Indian govt. for putting barbed wire fencing along much of BD-India border. With biometric smart NID card in places, no foreigners can disguise as citizen in Bangladesh.Even if any stateless Indian manage to come into Bangladesh, he will find life in Bangladesh much harder for him then in India. So he will smuggle himself back into India in a short notice.

Say that to scores of illegal transboundary business. The region is poorly managed by both sides. The barbed wires are good for us. It'll be hard for BDeshi's to corss over to here. And given the rampant corruption in BD, it'll be very easy to get an ID if you can spend some money. So, save me the lecture of your efficient ID system.
This is the situation of the barbed fence.
