No, Amigo, we don´t know about the two fishermen and their families. Our biggest news channel RAI tried to interview their families but desided to not do it to not cause more trouble. You have info about them? I would liek to know. People in italy are very sad about that accident. It is a tragedy that 2 people died and i feel very sorry for that. Our soldiers did not come to india to kill indians "for fun". Those two rushed towards the ship, which was protected from italian soldiers. They reacted to no warning. The crew of our ship felt threatened and believed they are under attack. It is even doubtful that the wto soldiers you have there fired the weapons. There were 4 others in board and italy denies them to go to italy. So chances are high you have 2 men theer who did not even fire one bullet.

If they are in prison, they have limited contact allowed.

The captain then started to alert the ships crew that a pirate attack starts and informed the mariens to protect the ship. All that can be proven, because its saved on the black box and vioce recorder on the bridge.

I expect Italy to do whatever is in its best interests. Sames goes to India.

I give more shit about setting an example so that Italy or any nation think twice about shooting anyone in Indian territories. I have my priorities straight.

As to Italian Indian friendship, like I said, best if such friendship exist on the basis of Mutual Respect. Else it is just not worth having.

We always had great friendship with india. Sonia Gandhi is italian. Many indians have a job in italy. Indians are paid same money as european crew on italian ships. Mission Atalanta saved several indian sailors from pirates. We have strong economic ties and cultural exchange.

We are going around in circles. This is my last post on this topic. This is what an typical Indian fisherman looks like.

It would be better to give cultural sensitivity training for your people who carry guns. (and maybe to all those who do not carry guns either)

Teaching maritime rules to a bunch of poor fishermen who risk their lives every day sailing into the ocean with a flimsy boat reeks of arrogance.

Indians should be free to move around in Indian territory without the risk of getting shot. Expecting the IA to provide escorts to Italian ship just to keep Indians safe is ridiculous.
