India asks Pakistan, US to mend ties

New Delhi - Expressing concerns at the growing Pak-US tension, India Thursday urged Islamabad and Washington to resolve their differences across the table.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh conducted a high-level security review of the situation after returning from Pretoria. At a joint press conference with visiting French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe here on Thursday, External Affairs Minister SM Krishna voiced India’s concerns. Krishna said anything that upset the region had adverse consequences on neighbouring countries particularly India. “We hope they resolve their differences across the table,” he said.


His French counterpart also echoed concerns saying his country was equally worried at the situation in Pakistan. He described Pakistan a central player in finding a solution to the Afghanistan imbroglio.

Oh I see! So does Afghanistan belong to Pakistan? Is it a state of Pakistan? A protectorate? What is Pakistan's locus standii with Afghanistan? It is a sovereign nation and its government can do what it considers good for its national interests, including giving India permission to establish consulates in places of its own choosing.

Bottom line: Pakistan needs to mind its own business and stop poking its nose in Indo-Afghan affairs. Period!

Coz of Pak-US tensions, our major worry is the large number of refugees at our waga border.

You know by advicing Washington and Islamabad to mend ties.. we are minding our own business only....I mean we need time to establish ourselves in Afghanistan...so to buy that time...we want to make sure that America should have some control over Islamabad...

India's Afghanistan connection has nothing to do with conflicts of US and Pakistan. The real conflict are,

1. Pakistan tipping off the terrorists before raid
2. drone strikes
3. Pakistan help hiding militants (according to US e.g. OBL)
in short, its all related to terrorism. once you get rid of it, it will be alright. now where does India's Afghanistan connection comes into the picture?
