Don't need to. Had this exact argument with Pakistan's premier expert on open defecation, Mr. Riaz Haq. Posted links from a Pakistani paper debunking that myth and called him a liar. By the way, Haqqani wasn't invited 'cause back then (1983), he was just a foot soldier. Hekmatyar was invited but didn't declined the invitation. Link is posted below.
