EU president says the bloc will be seeking to convince India to pressure Iran into abandoning its nuclear program despite New Delhi asserting repeatedly it will not adopt Western embargos on Tehran.

sanctioning Iran means no cheap Persian oil for us which we need to use badly especially since millions of Indians are now starting to have the ability to own cars and drive them. unless of course they want to pressure Saudis for selling us more oil for less price.

haha yeah right Israel won't give up its nukes even if the Americans flat out said it to them, they need nukes since they are surrounded by ignorant arabs who would enjoy the country's destruction, with nukes they have insurance besides Syria has chemical weapons and scud missiles already prepared for strike its not surprising why Israel has nukes.

That will not really solve anything. Iranians feel that they need nukes to secure their country from external aggression. This is the same reason why we decided to go for nukes after 1962 war with China and finally got the capability in 1974. Israel also went in for nukes because it felt threatened in a hostile environment. If it good for India and Israel, why isn't it good for Iran? Even if the Israelis give up their nukes, will that reduce the threats as perceived by the Iranians? I don't think so. Iran feels threatened by KSA and some other Gulf states, Turkey, Israel and the US. Not all of these countries are nuclear armed. My personal belief is that whether or not to opt for nukes is the sovereign decision of a nation and it should be accepted as such. No one has a monopoly over nuclear weapons. It is a science and a technology, anyone can master it if he has the will and the resources.

True Iran is a responsible country with a big and progressive economy. They deserve to be a nuclear power looking the current scenerio. America didn't think before arming Isreal with nuclear weapons, whats wrong woth Iran.

Actually, I think the Israelis did it without USA coming to know about it. They have never lacked brains. That is OK because I think that it is justified for Israel to possess nukes. But then, so is the case with Iran, why deny them?

On the long run, sanctions prove to be a boon rather than curse. Eg. India.

IMO, when saudis/omanis run out of oil, it will be the iranians sitting on humongous reserve of crude.

Yes of course, palm oil and wheat are important ingredients in the uranium enrichment process.
