Still, India cannot tackle Pakistan, let alone China. India always ends up having Fantastic Tea. And BTW if your budget was this/that much of Pakistan budget why are your 103 million people living in extreme poverty and 80-90% of the population does not even have toilets to relieve themselves.

what was India's education budget allocation in 2021?

I do not know because India has federal budget + separate budgets for each state. Both these budgets have education component in them.

The current govt is focussing on Infrastructure. In the next few years, India is going to spend $100B on Infrastructure.

PS: I am aware that Chinese numbers are gigantic, and Indian numbers may look small to Chinese. I do agree with the impressive accomplishments of China in the last 30+ years. Indian system does not allow that kind of very quick improvements across the board.

Actually subsidies is a common problem in the Subcontinent. Populism is a germ that keeps the entire region from achieving something on merit. People are good at producing mini-football teams at home but won't have lesser children and improve themselves. This combined with chaotic democracy exacerbates the problem.

This is why the governments are forced to spend more on subsidies than actual development.

Actually we cannot. Because of the population pressure, subsidies are simply not an option. We have to diversify faster, build more and secure more jobs while doing so. Jobs won't come with subsidies, reservations and vote bank clamouring. This is something most local-level politicians do not understand in our entire region. Though there are new city projects that are happening, the pace is slower than what we need to maintain. Much of this is due to the cautious spending we have to do, as quite a hefty sum of money is still going towards subsidies.

IMO, subsidies & reservations are like cocaine; those who are given these are benefits, will get addicted and would do everything to keep having it.

It is therefore better that Pakistan, due to whatever external pressures, is actually coming out of this cycle. People in your country will be forced to eventually change (it will be a trial by fire of sorts) and move towards getting newer skills and developing on the basis of their capabilities and willingness to work for what they aspire.

We need to change the manpower-based approach and focus on more tech upgrades for each soldier. The late Gen. Rawat sir tried to push for manpower reduction, but now that project will most likely be stalled.
