CHINA will veto India
red dragon....i ♥ u...
Not so easy as it advertised,
Ist & basic question:
Does India deserve it? Obviously not. http://www.defence.pk/forums/world-affairs/89558-india-doesnt-deserve-unsc-seat-geelani.html
China surely will use Veto power against India.
Do you remember what happened to the League of Nations?
League of nation had no power as anyone can resigned from the league and oppose it. UN is powerful because the biggest powers are in charge and maintain peace. India is not ready for UNSC permanent membership yet as its not powerful enough. If its powerful enough, I'm certain everyone else will be accomodating. In another word, if India threatens to resign if it does not have UNSC permanent seat, then other P5 would just say, "get out of here"
Do you remember what happened to the League of Nations?
what do you mean by powerful enough? first of all, India has a decent diplomatic core, so throwing such an amateurish hissy fit is unlikely, and forget the democracy or what ever thing, to lose the Second most populous nation from UN, would expedite lot of things that will be not be good. India has lot more leverage in the world scene than it had 10 years ago and will only increase 10 years from now.
The only thing you post here that qualify India for a seat in UNSC is that it has the 2nd most populous nation. Why was that fact changed in the recent past? As for economic increase, once India reach to a certain level. It can request a seat. Otherwise, any resolution to add India or any country to UNSC will be dead on arrival.
China was not an economic power house when it was inducted into UNSC. So your assumption that India should be an economic power house to go anywhere in the UNSC seat deal, is understandable but is not "necessary" requirement. The UNSC reform is a slow process, Hillary got it right, India is a self-appointed front runner. The American right is hell-bent on dismantling the UN and who knows what is in store. But I think you stuck up on a criteria that is not that vital.

China will not support india because:
1. india stab China in the back. Remember in 1959!!!!!
Right now, most indians envy China. Envy causes hate and hate causes war!!!!
China knows that it can not let india becomes part of UNSC because evenetually it will side with the west to harm Chinese interests!!! Same thing goes for Japan!!
Only when Indians correctly view the Chinese, and learn Chinese values. Understand our value, knowing the true Chinese not the sh!t image west trying to impose. Then will China support India. But right now india is NOT doing that, they are doing the oppsite!!. How could China support it?
China has only veto 6 times as a UNSC member for 60 years!! But I ganrentee you that China will veto India+Japan+Germany!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you dont need china's vote. you can have less than the number who voted India in this time- to the secruity council + the rest of the permanent members, vote to have india as a permanent member.
Dude, before telling me to learn your values, may be you should broaden yourself and learn others' values. Please, there is a problem with a section of Chinese here, your GDP is one-third of American GDP yet, you pretend to be on par with the USA (with some pakistani cheerleading). But, all of a sudden India is a state that is senile and looked down as if we are your serfs. No India will not suck it up to China. Never did, never will.
