Talking about the human rights records of China being abysmal is hilarious on the indian who is blowing the same trumpet lent from western media. All its neighbours, Pakistan, BD, Sri Lanka, Nepal know how good indian's own human rights records are. India is one of the most tumultuous regime in Asia with over 100 active rebel groups which want to be independent of indian rules.

Indians are helping the Tamil Tigers in their bloodiest battle against S Lankan's ruling government.

There is no interview or citation or quoting of figures / statistics in the article. It is a bogus essay. It is only suitable to be posted as a cheerleading material. That's why clear-eyed Pakistanis or other S Asian folks don't give much of a damn to reply.

I want to say same thing for all ASEAN countries, Korea and Japan. India card does not pay, or even US card will not pay in the long term. Must have own indigenous strength from a united Union ASEAN+. If those countries play India/US card, South Asian countries will play China card. We win, you loose. So choose wisely. Best is to not play any cards at all and play our own Union card. May not seem obvious or clear now, but time will make everything clear.

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa arrived at Seoul Air Base in Seoul, South Korea for a four-day official visit on an invitation extended by his South Korean counterpart, President Lee Myung-Bak.

South Korea's Vice Foreign Minister Kim Sung-han welcomed President Rajapaksa on his arrival at the airport and two Sri Lankan children welcomed the First Lady.

The President was accorded a guard of honor by the South Korean Army.

During his visit President Rajapaksa will hold bilateral discussions with his South Korean counterpart and is to address the Sri Lanka-Korean Business Forum hosted by the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Several bilateral agreements will also be signed during the visit.

The President will also meet with Heads of leading trade organizations in South Korea. A Sri Lankan business delegation will travel with the President to South Korea.

Minister of External Affairs Prof. G. L. Peiris, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga, Sri Lanka Ambassador in South Korea Tissa Wijeratne and Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal also accompanied the President.

South Korea to provide US$200 million to Sri Lanka

South Korea will provide Sri Lanka with US$200 million in development loans that can be used for future infrastructure building by Sri Lanka, the finance ministry said Tuesday.

Under the memorandum of understanding, the money to come from South Korea's Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) will be used in various agricultural and public work projects as well as education and health-related programs, it said.

"The agreement is important because it raises transparency on the amount of money that will be offered, making it easier for Colombo to set up its national development plans," the ministry said.

The EDCF can make it possible for local companies to take part in the ongoing 10-year national infrastructure building plan that runs through 2016, it said.

The loans can also strengthen bilateral economic ties with the country that buys South Korean cars, knitted goods and synthetic rubber. Two-way trade between the two countries reached US$426 million last year, with South Korea posting a US$262 million surplus.

In the past, South Korea provided development loans to 22 projects worth US$460 million, making Sri Lanka the fourth-largest beneficiary of official overseas assistance.
