You guys should seriously look at A10's it can come in very handy for COIN, CAS role. your main enemy taliban has no air force, A10 can provide very effective air support to ground operations, they can take a hell of a beating .. high serviceability and costs a fraction of the air-crafts being discussed here [US$11.8 million (average, 1994 dollars)]

CIA has even claimed that ISI is an equal rival. Intelligence is what is required to combat Taliban. That is a world-wide fact. The reason US is losing is because they have weak intelligence in Afghanistan.

Quite true.. There is no doubt that ISI is one of the most terriific intel outfits, but ANA requirement is to create disciplined well trained officers, the needed professional training to inculcate Will, Courage and Honor

We are just as qualified. Anyways the ground reality is that without Intelligence all that training will not help Afghanistan defeat the Taliban. No army can be trained to avoid terrorist attacks.

CIA and ISI are probably the worst intelligence agencies in the world right now.. The 1st hallmark of an intelligence agency is secrecy and low profile. Both fail miserably on that account. ISI even more so since last few years. I mean, look at it.. Its chief is getting sued by private citizens of USA for abetting terrorism and murder.. So it may be ruthless as an organization, but not so much so as an intelligence agency..
