India Air force को Rafale नहीं Gripen fighter planes चाहिए...!

.
All this generation business has ended with the F-22. 5th Generation has become a meaningless term now.

Unless some radically different technology is introduced, all aircraft with the right technologies, particularly to enable stealth, can be termed as 5th generation. With enough investment, even aircraft like JF-17 and LCA can be equipped with 5th gen tech.

However, aircraft with internal weapons bays and supercrusie capable engines will have a significant energy advantage over their counterparts without these technologies.

J20 threat is going to be massive post 2020.

Indians need to get there arse in gear

either Rafale F3
F35 lightening govt to govt deal
FGFA

J20 threat is going to be massive post 2020.

Even the J-20 is following PAK FA's development style. The main engines are not yet ready. So it could be introduced around the same time FGFA is.

What would be most important is to get Su-30MKI with FGFA tech.

It will he Rafales + plus an unexpected , not talked about aircraft.

The twin engine fighter is RAFALE.

Talking about the Union government’s “Make in India” initiative in the defence sector, Parrikar said that indigenous Tejas had been inducted and a proposal was afoot to manufacture twin engine fighter aircraft in partnership with a foreign company.

Unfortunately, Izdeliye 30, the new engine from Saturn for PAK-FA/FGFA would not be ready at least until 2025.

This is the key reason why IAF is not holding its breath.

Sounds like indigestion in the making.

Indigenization for India.

indigestion for China

3 different light jet fighters in service. It is a nightmare for logistics. I would rather get 3-5 each for research.

India would be replacing MIG-27 & MIG-21 with F-16s

RAFALEs would replace M2Ks and MIG-29s.

So it is replacing four types with two types.

FGFA & SAAB are JVs for long term goals.

FGFA

As stated earlier, J20 would be for the Securing China from East in South China Sea, to create the Anti access, Anti Denial zone to counter F-35.

F-35 govt to govt deal, lolz -- Before F-35 deal, sign CISMOA, BECA and various other U.S equipments, to support high speed tactical links, and access to the U.S satellite, because without them those F-35 would be just a tin can, because making a mission flight, all mission related data would be downloaded from the U.S server and after mission all Flight Data log would be duly uploaded for the Americans.

As per report they are pushing it as 5th Gen

Small changes, they are pushing it as a 5th Generation Air Warfare Capable. In reality, they are far behind the Rafale and EF-2000.

At the moment only plausible option is to opt for ready to go production rather than newer frame but interest seems to be low for later as well as collaborative design .

There is no PAK FA, only T-50 prototype as a technology demonstrator. And most important feature needed its engine is not ready yet. There is no threat for India from U.S at the moment, to die for the FGFA at the moment.

Report does make a point that Rafale at the end of day is 4++ Gen but F35 is 5th Gen

Those Generation are in reality are the marketing terms. Rafale is fully 5th Gen. capable combat plane just like F-35, but F-35 is stealth, and Rafale relies on its Spectra for its survival.

I dont want to spoil the thread but fact suggests some thing else and Indian negotiators have pushed them against the wall .

You are doing good. For the record, the delay of the Rafale deal is due to negotiation far deeper. Rafale + Scorpean, India + UAE, Aura + nUERON, Thales + MDPU + AMCA.

Why you say that F35 will be produced in several countries under LM production supervision a good chance for Indian`s to secure an assembly line

As a matter of facts, Indian demands for transfer of technology, and use of Indian Satellites and BMS and Indian Specific Munitions is more than enough to reject the LM offer.

With the Brazil deal, production capacity is going to increase significantly.

As for evaluation result, there was a technical evaluation of Gripen C.
Then, I guess a projection of the capabilities of Gripen E.
After the technical evaluation is done, other aspects are considerex.
The real showstopper was the non availability of Gripen E when
the decision for the shortlist was done.

Gripen E could have ended up at the top, and still not beeing shortlisted.
The fact that it was not short listed says NOTHING about the technical evaluation.
It is the expected performance of Gripen E, not the Gripen C data that counts here..

As a matter of facts, during MMRCA competition, IAF/RM allows the various contendor OEMs to show the lab demostrator, therefore the SAAB didn't showed NG, but took part in the competition with the NG specs, similarly F-16 IN was only theoratical, and the real bird presented was F-16 block 60, similarly there was no MIG-35 airframe, but took part in the competition.

That twin engine is Rafale F3/F3R, and another twin engine more suited to India is Combat HAWK being developed by HAL and BAE and been expected to be ready by 2017.

We are getting to get it reverse Engineering, and then we will produced as J-100, J-101, J-102, J-103 and J-104.

RAFALEs would replace M2Ks and MIG-29s.

So it is replacing four types with two types.

FGFA & SAAB are JVs for long term goals.

M2K, Jaguar and MIG-29 would get upgrades, and would serve India till 2035.

MIG 21 and MIG-27 would be replaced by LCA Tejas and Combat HAWK. There would be no need for the Specialized Ground attack combat plane like MIG-27, as Light PGM, Air to Ground Cruise Missile and long range GPS assisted Strandoff weapons would suffix those needs. MKI would become the workhorse of the IAF in future.

Google MDPU for processing huge amount of DATA, which makes the difference.

wrong sir

LCA MK1A & combat hawk will replace Mig21/Bisons and Mig27/bahadurs

rafale will replace jaguars and complement upgraded Mig 29s and M2Ks & MKi till AMCA and PAKFA/FGFA comes

as for the other single engined foriegn fighter then its all set to be F16V which most will be upgraded and refurbished second hand USAF which are in process of bieng replaced by F35 while LM wants india to be made hub to service and supply spares for the reamining coutmors it has

MDPU isn't special. The F-22 and F-35 have such a system too. And the others will eventually get something similar. It depends on the development goals. So even LCA and JF-17 can get this.

Yes both can get this, but who is gonna develop this. As far as Rafale's Spectra heart is concerned around which the French developed their doctrine, its the proprietary MDPU by Thales. If you want the 5th Generation warfare capability, than you need the 5th Generation Computing power, which could manipulate, analyses, and compute large amount of Data from the sensors like images, signals etc, in real time, to get the real time Situation Awareness which 486 or 8080 Mission Computer cannot do. You need High speed 2 way tactical data links with the speed of several MBPS, rather than few kbs, and you need high speed parallel Optical Fibres architecture between the sensors, actuators, Mission computer, Weapon Store computer, Display computer, Sensors, rather than the Slow Serial Bus, and that too packed in small space profile. Your comment looks so easy but the difference is the 486 PC with 8 mb Ram and DOS running and Core i7 with 16 GB Ram, running Apple Snow Leapord.

May be @Taygibay @BON PLAN @Picdelamirand-oil could explain to you much better.

As far as 5th Generation plane is concerned, Stealth is one feature, but in reality it should be low observability and that too in some band of frequency X band mostly. But if you have to face the enemy with Stealth Combat plane, you can even face them, if you don't have stealthy plane, but have long range Airborne Radar on its nose, and which features 5th Gen capabilities, like having smart weapons, Satellite Links, and Real time 360 degree situation awareness, and most important so called 6th Generation IUSAV aka Intelligent, ultra low Observability Unmanned Combat Drone, due to its small size and Stealth Design.

LCA has UREP which does the same as MDPU for all sensor systems. Even the MKI has gone into PowerPC based multi-core architectures, like MDPU.

What you are referring to is RCS. Stealth is much more than RCS.

X band RCS control is becoming obsolete. Pretty soon, you will need full spectrum low observability, and this will even go into the visual spectrum. So it will make the F-22/F-35 RCS control treatment obsolete, and give more importance to stealth from Spectra or the F-35's radar.

LCA have HAL/Edgewood Mission computer consisted of twin computer based on 8088 Processor, housed in a single unit. Rafale have Thales developed and propitiatory MDPU which have 18 line replaceable units. Now you are comparing both. Brother, give some time, and read more in depth. And kindly read about the Avionics upgrade architecture of the upgraded Mirage 2000 for IAF.

Do you know what is SPECTRA by the way ????????
