Oh Please Spare Bhutan.

Do you guys ever try to be good with any of your neighbors.Every neighbor is frightened from India.Because of what India does after capturing territories example Kashmir.

i have in front of me the newsweek latest edition which talks of Militraizing states of asia , it says glowing things about pakistan . caling it the most unstable state in the world to a failed state , also says other countries are equping because of China Pakistan and North Korea, if these countries showed restrain there would be stability in the reigion.
it seems to be the way most of the western world looks at it , i personaly dotn agree as every country has a right to defend its self . but when you say that india frightens and captures terriotries . you sir are dead wrong .

IMO, China is only worried with increasing Indo-US friendship which is also pushing Russia closer to China. And India had been successful so far by playing US card, whenever China tries to do something that is too blocking for India.

US has the best technology in arms.....

the balance of power will change a lot will india get these tech....

with US tech india forces will get a upper hand on quantitave advantage that china has till dates...

.
^^ what are you talking about, the us arms market has been open to india, china has been embargoed since 89.

India posses very strong relationships with Russia. The time span which you are specifying is cold war period.During that period India had a policy of Non-Aligned movement. It was Pakistan who is a long time ally of USA.
So obviously we had to keep buying weapons from USSR.
I think you get your answer.

The Indian embassy inaugurated its cultural wing, the Nehru-Wangchuck Cultural Centre, in Thimphu in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

The cultural cell was jointly inaugurated by the home and cultural affairs minister, Lyonpo Minjur Dorji, and ICCR president, Dr Karan Singh.

Located in front of Taj Tashi, the centre is set up with a library containing more than 4,000 books on Indian culture, a reference section, a music room, a yoga room and a multipurpose hall. Two regular teachers of music and yoga will work at the centre to teach individuals interested in Indian culture.

The centre will carry out regular cultural and artistic programmes and provide a platform for interested Bhutanese and Indian artists to interact and showcase their talent. It will also conduct reg*ular yoga and music classes.

“I would like to see this centre develop not only as a forum for India’s cultural ex*cellence, but as a stage for the expression of the best Bhuta*nese creativity,” said Dr Karan Singh. “I have not the slightest doubt that the centre, which bears the name of our great leader and your great dynasty, will continue to have the full*est support of the people and government of Bhutan.”
Nehru-Wangchuck Cultural Centre is expected to become an important and visible land*mark of the friendship based on shared history and culture and further expand and add a new dimension to India-Bhutan relations.

“Sometimes, when the po*litical and economic embrace is so close, it reduces the space for many other interac*tions which are not neces*sarily at a government-to-government level, but which reinforce the all-important areas of people-to-people contacts,” said Dr karan Singh, adding that the close cul*tural, geographical, historical, political and economic ties between India and Bhutan have always been a source of strength to both the countries.

The inauguration was followed by a cultural pro*gramme that featured the Kathak dance by noted dancer Sharmishtha Mukherjee. A photographic exhibition, ‘Buddhism in India’, by pho*tographer Sondeep Shankar was also inaugurated by Dr Karan Singh and Lyonpo Min*jur Dorji.

ICCR has 24 cultural cen*tres in different parts of the world promoting awareness of India’s composite cultural heritage abroad. Their pri*mary objective is to revive and strengthen cultural relation*ship and mutual understand*ing between India and other countries.

Apart from organizing activities, the centres develop and maintain contacts with the local citizens, particularly students, teachers, academi*cians, opinion-makers and cultural personalities to proj*ect a composite picture of the Indian heritage.
