I sort of agree with this article, not in the religious sense. But I look at it as a more rudimentary form of nationalism.

The fact that these pilgrims "knew the land" can be compared with any number of cultures worldwide.

For instance, there were hunter gatherer tribes, in the past that hunted the forest and farmed the land in a certain location. They would have probably been limited by geographical constraints, but nevertheless, such tribes have always wandered far and wide in search of new lands and new opportunities, as much as they could. And pretty soon these new lands that they discovered have historically fallen in their control, either through settlements or through war and conquests. That is how dynasties came to be formed, that is how America came to be discovered and inhabited etc., So maybe this knowledge about geography even though it must have been limited a long time ago, still meant that these people knew India south to north and east to west. And the fact that they probably found a lot of people belonging to the Hindu faith probably gave them this idea of a "Hindustan". Anyway, interesting read. Thanks for the article.

DNAs are macromolecules having genetic information coded into them. They are contained in Chromosomes. Each parent contributes 23 chromosomes, and therefore a human being has 23 PAIRS of chromosomes. DNA get altered or rather I should say the genotypic expression gets altered because of various reasons like environmental stimuli (evolution).

How do you say that mantras alter DNA is beyond me. Why do I always find your posts totally unscientific?

Good but saying that Indian culture just because some people play with colors or people watch Bollywood is naive. Leave the "spreading" to later..we have to think if everything is fine in the homeland first.

The pity is that not many can understand this very basic fact and you still have Indians who espouse views similar to those in post #18. And think that the native idealogies and the civilization that fed off them have nothing to do with the national integration or even the very survival of the country.

Sanatan Dharma is the soil in which the tree of India is rooted in. If you take the tree out of the soil either forcibly or willingly it will wither very soon.

I also feel there is something about mantras that needs to be researched in deep. For exmaple, In hindu mythology, all the mighty astras were invoked by reciting mantras. Stephen Knapp’s article “Frequencies that can kill, heal and transcend” is an interesting read.
