Include Bangladesh into G20: Yunus to Sarkozy

My message to all Bangladeshis...plz dont spread crap about Pakistan...
and compare urself to Pakistan....i dont know why do u compare economies of two countries...despite security problems in our tribal areas....here are the facts

Pakistan (2010 estimate)

GDP (PPP) 2010 estimate

- Total $451.972 billion

- Per capita $2,713

GDP (nominal) 2010 estimate

I see that our bangladeshi friends have a habit of day dreaming

This is the size difference of two countries:

Land Area

Pakistan Area
Total: 796,095 km2 (36th)
307,374 sq mi

Bangladesh Area
Total 147,570 km2 (94th)
56,977 sq mi

Pakistan's land area is around 8 times larger than Bangladesh, with every type of terrain from deserts and arid mountanious terrain in south, to lush green plains of Punjab in east, to moutainious region in northwest , and beatiful scenic places in Gilgit Balitistan....along with the fact of coal reserves worth trillions of dollars in Thar in south and gold and copper reserves worth billions of dollars in Baluchistan...Pak's potential is 100000 times more than BD...despite so many economic problems our economic indicators are better than bangladesh, in normal circumstances...obviuosly we would be leaps ahead of BD...u got to be crazy even comparing the two...let the future come...as this WOT is getting over in a year or two with withdrawl of NATO from region...

We have nothing to do with Bangladesh, neither it is within our immediate region nor neighborhood, i dont know why you people are obsessed with placing Pakistan along with you , bhutan, nepal and srilanka...although we have nothing to do with you...ethinically and linguistically its different....we dont even look like you...i dont know why u people are obsessed with us.
the international institutions including G8 have place us(Pakistan) and Afghanistan and in some cases Central Asian countries in Greater Middle east
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Middle_East

officially two of our provinces, KP and Gilgit Baltistan are in Central Asia, two of them (Punjab and Sindh) in South Asia and Baluchistan has traditionally been under Persian influence for centuries (Pak is at the cross roads of South Asia, Middle East and Central Asia)...like Turkey (at the cross roads of europe and asia) ...it has a lot of more potential...

BD members here...should chill now and sleep and dont compare urself with Pakistan..we aren't in ur neighbourhood..go ahead and compare urself to ur neighboring countries

Terrorism is an unfortunate variable, its better to avoid such fragments.

Thank you!
I wish Bangladesh the best, but its pissing me off seeing some people brush off Pakistan just because Pakistan is going through a rough time at the moment. Even with the rough time, we're doing okay! We've had the highest growth rate for many years and its just recently we've faced economic problems, personally I think Pakistan has the most potential out of all of south asia.

Don't get too bothered by what you read here, some of it is simple propaganda driven by malicious motives. Think long term.

Fanboys here should stop comparing Pakistan and Bangladesh. If Bangladesh wants to join G20 do it on your own independent merit and obviously match G20 standards.

Its quite a respected ranking system, that has been published in websites like BBC.

Oh wow its been published on the BBC, it definitely must be a 100% true then.

If that list were true, then india should be more failed then Pakistan because it has way more poverty, more insurgencies, corruption, etc. Theres a war going on afghanistan which has affected Pakistan and the problem of terrorism thats why there are issues in Pakistan, whats india's excuse?

.
@ DehliDareDevil Insurgency in Pakistan...is only on 2 percent of Pakistan's land..ie tribal areas..there two 140000 troops have been deployed...
in india..insurgency is in more than 13 states..but the nature of that insurgency is such that western nations dont give a sh**t..thats
why no one talks about that.

BTW if u believe BBC...then in 1965 this was a BBC interview too...enjoy !!!

So by your logid india which is home to worlds 1/3 poor country Should be compared with Botswana then or be the part of G20??? Its economy is big only cause of its bredding like rabbit population. Acountry where 77% people with less then .5 dollar a day and crap open as it has no proper sanitation system... sounds funny to be in G20.

Yet India is important to world economy..not Bangladesh. I can hurl countless abuses at Bangladesh but that serves no purpose, does it genius?

It must be the night of the trolls. Its no point. The world is just full of it. You are fighting one, another one says let me help you, then you see him stealing the kitchen sink. This is how the world is.

Lets all get along.

Bangladesh is the 57th Largest Economy.

Pakistan I think 26th.

Pakistan has a better chance in the G25 than Bangladesh.

Pakistan also has a higher per capita income than BD.

You illiterate troll check your fact before posting... Pakistan is in 47th position economic wise and in numerical term of gdp bd is 5 years leggings then Pakistan that means bd's 2010 economy is equivalent to pakistans 2005 economy. But you need to take in to account of damage that was done to bd economy in 1971. But bd is recovering well. BD is poised to do well then pakistan in every dimension... from literacy, education, manufacturing to economic growth. This 5 years difference is quite recoverable. Do not forget this year pakistan has been excluded from the next 11 emerging country by citi bank in their next 11 3G countries.

Honestly just because citi bank said it, doesn't mean that they are going to be right. It's a prediction and things change all the time. The fact that even though we have suffered through floods, war, terrorism, etc we aren't doing too bad. Most countries wouldnt even survive after going through all those things. InshAllah once this all ends we'll go back to be the highest growth in South Asia, because we have a lot of potential ( resources, human labor, strategic importance, etc)
