It's been reported in the French press that French and Turkish frigates haven't gone far from a serious clash few days ago in the mediterranean after the Greek frigate "Spetsai" tried to control a cargo ship escorted by the Turkish navy.

Following this event,France didn't hesitate to send the frigate Courbet, actually deployed on a NATO mission to make contact with the "strange" cargo ship. The Courbet approached the cargo ship "Circkin" and the frigate was immediatly chased by the Turkish frigate Gökova.

The tension rises: The Turkish navy proceeds to a radar illumination of the French frigate. A soldier tells ; In the French armies, radar illumination is considered an act of war because it is the last action before the opening of fire." And to press: "in theory, this causes the immediate start of the fire of the one who is illuminated".

France and Turkey have not gone far from a serious clash with serious consequences.

Y'all know I - like most Pakistanis - am shamelessly pro-Turkey. However, whatever anyone wants to say pro or anti Turkey or about the ottomans or about ataturk or whether they support or reject Turkish actions in Libya, Syria, Timbuktoo, or anywhere else....one thing is absolutely clear from Turkey's military's actions over the last year or so.

They got balls and routinely put their money where their mouth is.

It was b/w Greek/Italian and Turkish frigates. A cargo ship, registered in Tanzania, was carrying "stuffs" from Istanbul to Libya. The Greek frigate tried to intercept that ship. And, a chopper from the Italian frigate approached that ship. Then, they received a call from the Turkish frigate: "Amigo, this ship is under the protection of the Turkish State. Don't compel us to do what we haven't come to do". The "intelligent" folks understood the "message", and went back the way the came. Kapish...

French Idiocy knows no bounds, supporting Hafter will end with a permanent Russian presence on NATO's southern flank, and jeopardize so many things. Not to mention backing this dictator who forces are creating mass graves..

Greek locked TAF planes but were afraid to shoot.

France got illuminated but didn't fire.

They fear the Turkish reaction will be severe.

Wake us up when something happens.

Napoleon was the last Frenchman who could fight. Withdrawal symptoms of defeat. They think Turkey is like fighting a couple of africans throwing stones in the desert and claiming 100 terrorists killed

Turkey should have fired on the French Navy to see what happens next.
