I think one election would be a great step if the politicians could pull it off.

On topic:

Farmer suicides are primarily the result of introduction of GMO crops in India which do not allow farmers to make their own seeds for the next crop. Partly it is also due to abuse of pesticides resulting in lower yields.

GoI needs to invest in educating and supporting Organic farming methods but unfortunately Modi is taking the country in the opposite direction.
