There really is no way to solve this problem because it is cultural. We are talking about very damaged people here. The only way to solve it is to make sure kids are raised right but how can damaged people raise undamaged kids? They can't.

It's not cultural. It is because they're poor and uneducated. They used their grandpa miseries only as an excuse to justify their action. What they need is not a reparation money. But the chance of getting proper jobs, proper educations, and proper welfare. The problem is, those jobs are taken by Immigrants (included illegal Immigrants). And your education system (except your excellent University education level) is suck. They need a better education system in Middle and High schools to avoid getting another trouble maker who value "Freedom" more than anything else. yes, that included the freedom to loot.

WTF are you talking about? I was food shopping yesterday at two major chains and I didn't see any issue. Maybe this is some localized California issue over on the West coast because I haven't noticed anything.

I go every weekend...even at the height of Covid I never saw any issue.

It said that from hundreds of cranes, only 7 that were operating. So they lack of labors who operate the cranes. Unless they lack of power, which mean US face a serious energy shortage. Which is impossible.

Though not asked, none in the People's Republic of Santa Monica that I can see.

Domestically there is no logistics issue, at least in Southern California.

There is just an import log jam at the ports (places like Long Beach). Some kiddies may not get their Chinese-made gifts this Christmas cause the ports couldn't unload all the containers. They are working 24/7 in 3 shifts however.
