Various factors have contributed to this spike in cases.
Few of them are:-
1. Covidiots galore
2. Government’s both Central and State level failure to comprehend and take preventive measures
3. COVID fatigue leading to people giving up and taking unnecessary risks.
Lack of oxygen and few medicines is poor foresight of those responsible for these commodities. I have seen even some young people in 30s loosing their life. The mutated variants appear to be more lethal. People need to keep following COVID protocols.
The silver lining in this entire fiasco is vaccine manufacturing capability of India. By stopping export of COVID vaccine India is in a good position to vaccinate and control it’s spread. India has already vaccinated 135 million people. That’s a large number but percentage wise just about 10%. That would probably get things under control inspite of gloomy circumstances right now.
Situation wouldn’t have reached this dire straits if there was better planning and a little lesser stupidity.
Canada and UK have now put restrictions on travel to and from India. Few other countries have also done the same. Hopefully this would put to rest the conspiracy theories which is the basis of this thread.
Although, I would love to believe that India has so much soft power that nations would put their well being at bay to please India.
