India has significantly surpass China in financial investments in the modernization of the country's Navy

In the next 20 years, India will invest 46.96 billion dollars in the modernization of the Navy of the country have adopted 101 new warship, including modern destroyers, amphibious ships and nuclear submarines

This opinion was expressed by the vice-president of the American analytical agency «AMI International, Bob Nugent, reports PTI.

Speaking at a press conference during which took place in Singapore 8 th International Conference and Exhibition IMDEX Asia-weapons expert in 2011 said that Indian investments will exceed twice the cost in China, which plans to spend 23.99 billion dollars for the construction of 113 warships.

Major investments India plans to send to the program to build nuclear submarines, and China - aircraft carriers.

At the same time, the expert noted that the current capacity of Indian shipyards are involved is almost completely, which could adversely affect the implementation of existing plans. So far behind schedule program delivery Naval NNS "Scorpion" can not be accelerated because of the lack of additional manufacturing space.

According to the AMI, India's expenditure on the construction of naval vessels could reach 27,8% of the total investment for this purpose in the Asia-Pacific region. Expenditure in India and China to upgrade its navy to exceed the amount of funds allocated for these purposes by Russia.

Among other countries in the Asia-Pacific region, intending to send a large investment for the construction of warships for its Navy, named Australia (14 bn), Indonesia (7 billion), Taiwan (16 bn), Pakistan (2.85 billion dollars) and Singapore (1.74 billion dollars).

According to the forecast AMI, Asia-Pacific region is a world leader in financial investments in the construction of warships. It is expected that over the next three years in Asia Pacific will be built about 340 ships of various types.

it is jus a pseudo feel good message. if one takes a look at chineese navy and indian navy we know where we stand.

Good news indeed for China. We must encourage the Bollywoodaydreamers to invest heavily on military ships and weapons procurement. On the other hand China should invest heavily in its civilian economy. Now China is the 1st Shipbuiliding country in the world surpassing Korea and many Chinese Shipbuilders and merchant ships companies top the World list. Let India invests most of its financial resources in constructing and purchasing military ships and China should not compete in this field. It should concentrate to be a top investor in civilian shipbuilidng, in infrastructure, education, health care and in its economy in general. On the other hand India might have thousand of modern western warships while its own citizens don't have accessed to basic education, health care, suffering malnutrition, no access to basic toitets etc. In fact India will be No 1 in warships investment and still no 1 in street defaecation.

there is nothing wrong if India is building and modernizing its navy.

remember" peace means carrying bigger stick than your neighbor." china's defense budget is at least 100 billion $ while ours is only 36 billion $.

if we dont invest properly in navy we will not able to defend our own sea borders against PLA in case of war let alone infiltrating into south china sea. we are also building our economy.

India's aim is to send message that Indian navy is enough strong that it can defend maritime borders of India and can pose threat to Chinese cargo ships and oil tankers which are blood veins of Chinese economy. this is enough for us.

So it just simply means, even with cheaper manpower, cheaper electricity and raw materials we will be spending twice as much as China while constructing lesser number of warships than China. Good to know that corruption will continue to rise...

Good news for IN. In future we will need a strong navy to secure our trade lines.

Not even a single official document is available for assessment of Dragon's power. It might be too strong but it can also be much weaker than we estimate..

In this regard wikipedia is pretty much reliable, well atleast for the surface fleet.

We need at least 12 sets of SSN and SSBN apart from tiny Arihant class nuke subs and more P-8s, ASW covettes.

Yup you are very right without information .....atleast get some knowledge about indian shipbuilding and then think and go on decision.Haan dost you are speaking about our basic education.... tumhare yehan roj 100 peple mar rehe hai and hamare yehan roj revolutionary step ho rehe hai .Apne girebaan me dekho pehle fir baat karna. Bhikhariyon ko sharm bhi nahin aati

Let's see.

India: 46.96B for 101 ships = 460M per ship
China: 23.99B for 113 ships = 210M per ship

India will overpay more than double for about the same number of ships. What's hilarious is the title, "India has significantly surpass China in financial investments in the modernization of the country's Navy." It's like, we have been fooled into paying twice to buy this thing but at least we outspend the next guy.

It's clearly propaganda spinning at the Indian audience to avoid scrutiny on the inflated cost. And it's working! Judging from the cheering from the gullible members in this thread.
