What's new

In a stunning insult to India, US ‘Hyphenates’ India & Pakistan.

So is that acceptable in Canada, but not in USA? Why is the US expat community here supposed to promote a particular agenda?

What are you even talking about??? What the hell USA politics and world status has to do with Canada ?
can you make some logical argument?
So many kids here on PDF opening tread based on their dreams.
There is no realization where their own country is heading but they are dreaming so called "destruction and Insult" of India. Lol

Absolutely not. I do not wish any harm to India or its citizens . But India has no right to hurt Pakistan and Kashmiris that are not it’s citizen.

world politics is a nasty and dirty business. Indian policies under Modi have gone from bad to disaster for everyone .

under Modi India is not safe. Their foreign policy defeat is all I am talking about not about harming India .

If you peruse the thread above, it includes a discussion about the role of expats can play in influencing thier adopted country towards more beneficial policies for their original homeland. Hence my question, but it is okay if you cannot answer it.

Particular agenda ? In every country communities peruse their own agendas which can be local issues or issues effecting country of origin.

Canada has a very limited and insignificant role to play in the world politics.
we are therefore very limited in what we can do sitting here in Canada.

The USA politics and world stature is a totally different beast . There is so much to do and so much to take part in.

Pakistanis living there must start by taking part in the local level politics. Get themselves elected and slowly make their move up the ladder. Indians are doing it and are very successful.

Pakistanis habitually stay away from politics and then complain about how Pakistan is getting treated . We have no presence in American politics.

I can buy a politician’s favour here by collecting $5000 with a fund raising. You will have his or cell number for doing that. In America exactly the same thing happens except the price is $350000.

get organized, do fund raising, volunteer and collect funds . You will get ear of your local Congressmen or congresswomen ….. after that everything is easy .

LOL. That is the easy part. The real battle is getting across a message that has nothing to stand upon given the actions that emanate from the previous homeland. For example, try explaining Dr. Afridi's continued detention by an "ally" that deserves support.

This part is hilarious;

India is No US Favourite
Just because Biden lets Modi into the White House while Imran Khan hasn’t even received a telephone call, let’s not presume that we are the apple of US eyes. The biggest reason for Modi’s entry into the White House is that the world’s most powerful leader is also a salesman of the US arms and energy industries. Another reason for nominally indulging Modi is that he has assigned India a small, symbolic role in countering China.

India couldn’t stop bragging about its defence partnership with the US and bagging a key role in the US’s Hawaii-headquartered Indo-Pacific Command through the QUAD. But New Delhi has been jolted out of its stupor by the recently formed Australia-United Kingdom-United States (AUKUS) defence pact to provide nuclear submarines to Australia.

India had been hankering after nuclear propulsion submarine technology for decades, but was fobbed off by successive US regimes.

What the US mercilessly denied India has been suddenly given to Australia on a platter, creating a caste hierarchy in the QUAD, with India right at the bottom.
The US and Australia now comprise the QUAD’s white :sarcastic: “A” team. Japan is not bothered as its defence and security is anyway guaranteed by the US. India is now an outlier, or, to be blunt, an ‘outcaste’ in the QUAD that our diplomatic establishment raved about.

Someone tag in our Indian posters i.e. the ones who go on and on about their grand alliance.

Skin color has nothing to do with this, but only the pursuit of national interests. Presently, there is no advantage for US interests to give India nuclear submarine technology, just like it has no such advantage in giving Pakistan helicopter technology, even though both India and Pakistan may want it. Of course, that may or may not change in the future.

Afridi was jailed for collaborating with a foreign intelligence agency.

Jonathan Pollard was jailed for spying for the Israelis even though it is a US ally?

Yes, but demanding equality is not a good strategy when one needs more than the other, politically speaking. Being morally superior is great, but not when asking for support.

You seem to be more worried about Afridi than the Congress does!
All countries hold bargaining power. How about releasing Arifa in exchange for Afridi?
Give them this suggestion if someone asks.

Canadians just released Huawei executive in exchange for two totally innocent Canadians held in China .

tell them we released Davis because he was an American. Afridi is not so ….they need not to worry. They just left500000Afghan collaborators behind …. How about getting them out first?

Bro just a word of advise ….. you seem to have too much inferiority complex dealing with Americans …. I hope and pray you don’t present any Pakistani point of view to anyone .

Ah yes, of course. We can see just how much bargaining power Pakistan has. Let us remain on the moral high ground. Of course.

All diaspora communities bat for their country of origin. It's a natural pull to the land of your ancestors. However Pakistani diaspora communities are almost always outgunned by India diaspora. The reasons are primarily as follows -

1. Indian diaspora tends to be far larger then Pakistani's. Take UK the Indian's are at least in 50% greater numbers and make the largest ethnic group.

2. Indian diaspora tend to come from social class that tend to have more experiance of the western world and thus are more open. Take the Indian's in UK. The heavy lifters in the UK Indian community are the Indians from Uganda who often hailed from the mercantile Gujrati community and had become exposed to British for nearly a century working for the emipre in East Africa.

3. Many Pakistan's come from rural areas with strong conservative tradition and are not open to taking opportunities that living in the west offer. They often end up living in self created bubbles influencedy by backward mualvis.
