NATHIA GALI: PTI chairman Imran Khan that his party would make tourism a top priority after coming into power.

Addressing a gathering of supporters in the mountain resort town of Nathia Gali, Khan said that this area was better than Switzerland in term of scenic beauty.

“Those who say industries will be set up at Nathia Gali are telling lies. Industries are set up in big cities, not hilly towns,” he said.

He said that tourism would be promoted using educational sector.

Khan said that after coming into power, his party will develop four new tourist resorts every year.

"Do not be fooled by false promises of other parties because they will never develop Northern areas. PTI is the only party that has delivered according to its promises in KPK," he said.

“Shehbaz Sharif will have to go to Adiala Jail as well — similar to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Safdar,” he said.

Imran alleged that the PML-N leader has registered ‘32 fake cases against him’.

"Not getting positive news regarding the upcoming elections," said the PTI supremo, adding that people should get out of their homes to vote on July 25.

He further said that the condition of Galyat has immensely changed over time.

Accusing Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of being biased against his party, he hoped that the caretaker prime minister would maintain his neutrality till the elections.

“Unfortunately I will have to say that Caretaker Chief Minister Dost Muhammad is siding with Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Akram Durrani. But I hope that he will mend his ways,” he said.

Good. If anyone can than he can. There are many youtube videos of him traveling to unknown locations in Northern Pakistan. All beautiful spots. Tourism industry in Pakistan can flourishes if promoted properly.

One such video from his trip:

Pakistan desperately need to develop its tourism Industry by building and updating the existing tourism infrastructure.

All tours should have foreign language speaking guides also we should offer many excursions all over Pakistan

.
No offence but how is a mall a tourist attraction?

Why not? Don’t you want to promote local economy? Tour packages should also have option to visit local market/mall. Malls are more secure than open markets.
If it’s raining outside, tourists can spend few hours in the mall. They can buy made in Pakistan products from gift shops in the mall. They can eat at different restaurants in the mall. It’s all about innovation ideas to promote tourism and promoting local industries. Just look at the Alibaba website for Made in Pakistan products...

Just few simple things that come in mind..
Gift cards
Key chains
Coins
Refrigerator magnets
T-Shirts
Clothing
Leather jackets
Marble products
Brace products
Wood products
Pottery.
Small Minar E Pakistan replica.
Jf-17 replica

Imran Khan sounds like a smart, practical leader to prioritize tourism. High tourism= good reputation= more investment. India is a good example of this, as the Incredible India campaign has boosted tourism and India's overall reputation. Which is probably why news about rape and lynching and Kashmir is often overlooked in western media.

However, IK faces an uphill challenge in getting more tourists to come. Its kind of a paradox because although tourism improves reputation, a good reputation is needed to attract tourists, and Pakistan's reputation is not that great. Not to mention, many Western tourists only want to lie on a beach and go shopping in malls(That's why the Carribean is so popular). They simply are not interested in the stuff South Asia as a whole has to offer, which is history, culture, and natural beauty. And yes, it will be hard for Pakistan to compete with India, since India already has an established and growing tourism industry.
It does seem like IK at least has the right idea though. Best of luck.

Good point. I was looking at from "inside the box".

Also, these tour companies can hire “Tour guide” (can be male and female) who are educated so they can communicate with foreign and Chinese Tourists. Each tour can have multiple tour guides. It will certainly reduce unemployment.
Tourism industry is huge and it will promote local industries including hotel, transportation, Resturants, gift shops, etc.

Since india is now a epicenter of rape....it’s becoming hard core Hindu countries which runs by Hindu extremismt. Pakistani still very much a secular country....with right approach we can easily attract these tourists to Pakistan.

That's not what the west thinks is it? If it did, we would not receive over ten million tourists a year(ten times as many as Pakistan). And you completely missed the point of my post. I was simply listing some real challenges Pakistan faces in attracting tourists. I also akhowledged these same challenges are faced by India. The difference is India has created a successful and growing tourist industry. I think it would be a good idea for Mr. Khan to learn from India and create something like "Incredible India" for Pakistan.

I agree as i have been to many places in India. I still remember the guided tour to Agra. I have meet 3rd generation photographer and tour guide in Taj Mahal.

We have many things to learn in terms of developing tourism industry in Pakistan. It would be good idea to invite Indians for consultations about Tourism.

LOL!

What? How?

Its simply a statement without substance

Neither tourism can be a priority for Pakistan at the moment nor it has mean to do so?

For Tourism
First improve Law and Order although i fear that Khan Sb might reverse what we have gain
(Releasing terrorist/facilitator without correcting Judiciary/Prosecution system) & tackling extremism for that Khan sb has Zero Courage.

Secondly infrastructure for that you need money & money we don't have.
