Imran Khan, former prime minister of Pakistan, is convinced the army is afraid of the elections because he would win


Pakistan's former prime minister Imran Khan has told BBC HARDtalk the military is petrified of an election, which is expected to take place later this year.

He alleged that "fascists" are leading the country into the "dark ages".
Mr Khan was elected in 2018, ruled for just under four years, and was then ousted in a parliamentary no-confidence vote last year.

Observers say a big reason was him falling out of favour with the powerful military.
Pakistan's military has for decades held a firm grip over how the country is run.

Well, the fauji's successfully fooled people for a very long time. i used to have debates with my bengali friends who I have known for more than 30 years. Today, Seeing what's happening I have had to reflect on things and realise what fauji's are. they are the continuation of the british colonial setup.

even the british army no longer has those colonial things in its military. but its continues here.

to please mai baap amrika they will do anything, LGBTQ+ etc is a small fish in the grand scheme of things when retirement in Florida is the goal.

Let's not attack the anchor here, they're literally just doing their job. They gave Imran Khan a chance to address criticisms directed towards him with zero chances of censorship, and he succeeded. I think it was good for all sides involved. BBC got a great interview, and IK got a chance to explain himself precisely and cleanly.
