I have some reservations on this tweet though. Our cash transfer program was far from perfect and we also saw few reports of corruption during the cash transfer. However, for a country like Pakistan, it was impressive with all the imperfections. Initially I thought that people will not get a dime and the whole money will go into the pockets of corrupt politicians and civil servants. But I personally know a few people who received the money and were very happy. Without this money, I don't know what they would have done.

Imran Khan is preaching to the choir here. Maybe if he studied our DBT programs he wouldn't have suggested it. It started in 2013 during Manmohan Singh times and was taken up forward by the Modi government. Besides, printing money and distributing it with the public is useless, the inflation will consume the money distributed making it a pointless exercise. Your program has a lot of imperfections like very low bank penetration vis India. In any case, his understanding of situations in India or the state of the poor is as good as some PDF Pakistanis.
