Yup this country's people deserves the nawaz and zardari protected by the worst creatures of the planet.

.
He had many positives and was loved by the people of Pakistan such as:
*wanted to make major reforms in Pakistan
* bring rule of law
* was a new face in politics
*wanted accountability
*united Pakistanis and made them proud
*made new better policies
*made long term plans
*gave the youth hope and a platform
*helped the poor by giving them income
*started Pakistan first policy
*defended Palestinians and kashmiris

His downfall was when he made alot of wrong decisions and blunders such as:
* making deals with the establishment to get their support for the chair
*threatening opposition during darnas that the boots are coming
*turned a blind eye when the establishment people were given powerful positions
*allowed electables and dacoits in to his party
*made big statements but then backed out
*praised the judiciary for decades but then went against them
*praised the generals but then called them traitors
*praised politicians when they joined Pti but called them names when they left
*dissolved assemblies and refused to sit in the opposition
*made immature statements such as we will fight elections and win but will then dissolve assemblies straight after
*openly attacked the armed forces
*using international media platforms to attack the armed forces
*Isolated himself in politics

@FAROOQ RASHID BUTT

Care to share the negatives and his downfall

Great post.
Sums up well. Especially coming from you, who, I presume, is still an Imran admirer. Unfortunately, you have spoken too much truth for this forum.

Whatever faultline is associated with IK, it is not intentional. I think it is his immaturity in reading the situation that led to him being lonely. His lack of foresight played against him. You may blame him for a few things, but undoubtedly, he is one of the good, leaders who has a certain vision for Pakistan and Indo-Pak relations in South Asia.

"Immaturity". Why not call it 'stupidity" and "arrogance"? Call it what it really is. Who would make huge blunders after blunders and would still survive in the shark-infested waters of Pakistani politics? Can you guys, especially our Indian members here, not see that 'PTI' was/is nothing minus Imran? That if Imran had croaked due to a heart-attack, the 'party' would have abruptly ended? You too have a cult around Modi, but if he dies suddenly, the BJP will survive and live on. Why would a one-man cult be the 'solution' to Pakistan's problems? Imran never trusted anyone to be his replacement and never groomed anyone despite his '27 year political struggle'. Was that by design or simply too lazy for that?

"Intentions" are not a substitute for 'intelligence".

As for the Indo-Pak relations, EVERY civilian leader in Pakistan after the fall of ZAB knows that to break the chokehold of the Establishment, they'd have to get rid of the 'Security State' status of Pakistan and that lies through peace with India. Imran is no exception.

As for Imran's fall: It was directly related to his lust for power through meddling in the appointments of the two topmost military roles in Pakistan: The COAS and the ISI Chief. I don't know why people don't understand that. Imran's focus was on crushing and obliterating his political opponents and even in the media there are many accounts of senior journalists directly or indirectly attacked under his rule.

As I keep repeating, he could have been the Erdogan of 2003 but he chose to be the Nawaz Sharif of 1999. But, unlike Erdogan, who was facing a hostile Turkish Deep State, Imran had the backing of Pakistan's Establishment.

yeah, i am not a PTI guy. didnt vote for it, may not vote for it again. lol.

but i can see what is right and what is wrong.
People seem to have trouble understanding support for the rule of law and and an end to constitutional violations by the Fauj & parties like the PMLN & PPP vs support for IK.

IK just happens to be the only politician, currently, who supports rule of law and the constitution.

Per the constitution, the Prime Minister has the authority to make those appointments as they see fit.

I don’t know why people like you simply cannot understand what rule of law and operating per the constitution means.

Personaly i believe, he is too immature to lead Pakistan as politician as similar to Rahul Gandhi. His performance of 3 and half years one of the nothing to showcase...

Pakistan should look beyond bhutto, sharif and imran for the better future.
