It will be difficult for the government, but this is the job of NAB and the judiciary.

The government is caught between a rock and a hard place. If they make a move PML-N and PPP would cry political victimization. Something they already do by the way.

This is the job of the NAB and judiciary. They need to work swiftly and independently. They need to be bold and take on the crocodiles.

I agree. It's stupid for Government to continue deflecting to previous governments. They need to show what good they have done, which isn't much.

I think Pakistan needs to reevaluate its financial plan but then again, how long of a time frame should we give to see any benefits at all before.

You talk as if this government has been in power for years.

You were nowhere to be found when previous governments were taking turns and destroying the economy one at a time. LOL here you are demanding swift action from a government that inherited economic mess on steroids.

You will have your wish. Let the next elections come. You can vote for Nawazoo or Zardari. Enough choice
to wreck the economy all over again and some more.

Anyone ever heard of 5 year plans and why they are needed for long term economic development.

We are in process of structural changes to our economy. It is going to take years before we see any decent gains.

What I can only suggest briefly is to:

Reduce expenditures, increase savings, invest in side hustles/businesses and export oriented manufacturing/service based industries. Further encourage capital raising for businesses and stop dumping excess money in buying plots.

Moreover, stop making babies for a few years. We need to curtail the population growth as our GDP/resources are not growing exponentially.

I wasn't here on PDF during previous government :D

Also, I don't expect PTI to wave a wand, but I expect at least something to be done right, like any good omen; I can't see that omen, all I see is bad news coming from economic organizations world wide.

Language tells a lot about one's own household.
There is something known as sarcasm.
Supporter of any political party are just loathsome.

Let them cry,we should kill them and end them for good.
NAB and judiciary won't do anything.

It was aparent from the initial days of this government that Pakistan's economy will only grow after 2021.. There is no way in the world that one can do away or considerably reduce the current account deficits and circular debts before 2021. 2021 itself is a very optimistic timeline as painful measures need to be put into motion gradually but consistently for the economy to be weaned off steroids.
The documented economy needs to be improved, savings need to be encouraged, subsidies need to be done away with and most importantly direct tax collections needs to be improved largely. The above will cause pain and misery but is the only way forward. The nation employes accountants to come up with ingenious ways to show a negative or zero balance sheet. We are just not willing to give tax but are willing to criticize the government in a heart beat.
Going forward we also need to raise the base industries for the big money production and finished products to start earning money for the country. This itself is going to be tricky as lots of lots of efforts to convince FDI along with sustained improvement in ease of doing business is what is required. Our ministries, departments and people are chronic lethargic and easy going people who loath to work and perform their duties.
P. S.
I did not vote for PTI but that does not mean i start criticizing them just because i can. I am happy to admit that what they are doing has a bright future for my country but unfortunately it is too sudden and is distressing the masses.

new gov is tightening the noose around the non tax payers but since we have a parallel black economy its hurting pakistan badly

Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown......

Now, if one doesn't deserve the crown for being a traitor terrorist corrupt-to-the-core scum-0f-the-earth at the payroll of the mortal enemies, then definitely no sense of "worries" would ever be felt....

It takes time!!! It's easy to get the Iktidar, but very difficult and time consuming to be the Muktedir!!!! As for Reis Erdo'an it took 14 years just to cross the threshold...
