Calling one self a sage means you have to live with the meaning of the word. I dont find that to be the case with the current post. We have too long lived to create pedestals on which to plant people as heroes. I think irrespective of sethi's views and leanings you have to think about what he is saying.
No concept of foreign policy and economy. No concept of Governance. No concept of the causes of corruption and how to root it out. No declared aims and objectives. Even behind a fool like Zardari there are people who have previously ruled and governed provinces. Yet do you remember how interested he was in getting the Finance minister from PML N? Nobody knows this more than people who have been around Imran that he is stubborn and least likely to listen to others. If he continues to be that way what will happen to this country? Who are the people behind him who will set the policies of the state and what is their experience?
These are all genuine questions that need to be answered. We all feel that Imran could lead us out of this mess but has he got the capabilities? only time will tell and till that time these questions will remain surrounding the enigma that is Imran Khan.

The fact of the matter is that our past rulers in last 3 decades sadly perpetrated extreme corruption from the top.
This can only be stopped if a relatively honest party comes to power.
We cannot have angels descend from the heavens so i shall put my faith in PTI to improve things in this regards.

If the leadership tries to improve economy as opposed to deliberately causing great economic harm to the country in order to finance their personal ventures, the magnitude of the improvement can be significant.
If subject matter experts are appointed instead of Raja Parwez Ashrafs in this country then improvement can be a lot.

You would agree with me that any system is worthless if it is not implemented.
The issue with implementation is both of capability and intent.
Intent was clearly lacking in the past.
With Imran we know that the intent is there and in Jahangir, Kasuri, Hashmi, Quershi, Assef etc. he now has a very seasoned group of party members who have a lot of experience of running a country and are not retards like Rehman Malik, Rana Sanaullah etc.

I do not expect a miracle but i am quite hopeful that if he comes to power, we can expect a positive change.
He is an enigma but then all great men are enigmatic, let us hope he is given a chance.

I share same sentiments as you. 45% of votes in previous elections were fake and bogus. One has to be a complete idiot to think that the up coming elections will be 'fair'. People love to fool themselves, Pakistani nation always sits and wait for a saviour, they are hero-worshipers. They dont want to do anything for themselves, they don't want to use brain, they dont want to come out of their endless ignorance which has allowed corrupt politicians to rule them for 60 years, but these people sit and wait for a harry potter type of hero while they witness the country falling apart around them and while they are being butcherd everyday on streets, sometimes by 'terrorists' and other times by these corrupt politicians and their families. These under educated people are waiting for someone with a magic wand, they don't want to think for themselves and their future yet put all the stakes in some hero. Pakistani nation is too much influenced by bollywood movies where one hero saves everyone. That mentality has become a part of everyone and even more now since the blatant exposure of indian tv and media in our cinemas. These people are digging a grave for themselves. Pakistan is divided on all fronts, regionally, ethnically and religiously. Calling for elections in this scenario will be the repetition of 1970. Imran Khan will be another Bhutto - the former hero.

This nation seriously needs education only then their hero-worshiping mentality will change. They are too much duped to see that their current hero is standing on the shoulders of former members of Political parties which we all condemn left and right, but for some reason, these ex-politicians are suddenly all clean and not corrupt because they are supporting the useless hero who could'nt do anything in past 15 years of his political career. He is only able to hold large rallies after he joined these corrupt politicians and they started to fund his lost cause for their own good. Imran Khan will be used and abused and later hanged, and the Pakistani nation will become sub-humans under their new master who are going to be worse then previous ones. And they should not cry if the table is placed in Lahore race course Park this time!

Gonna have to partially agree with Najam Sethi here that IK is not a true politician as he can't make emotionally manipulative n flamboyant speeches to galvanize the largely ignorant masses like Nawaz n zardari's do. and thats what we DONT need at the moment, we have those politicians in abundence. IK is a creative n honest administrator and thats what the country requires at this crucial juncture to make a quick turn around to the socio-economic collapse.

Interesting part is that your posts are not only are an explicit exhibition of your confused mind but also they are at many times contradictory. It is you who is whining about PTI not being successful in fifteen years. It is you who thinks Imran is a failed politician since he didn't win enough seats in the previous elections. But again it is confused souls like you who have problem when winning politicians join PTI. It is "educated" lot like you who thinks PTI is a one man show and when still whines when the seasoned politicians join PTI. I am not a freak. Since I am not confused. I am not the one who comes with non practical solutions for the problems of this country. I am not that idiot who supports autocracy in this country.
