Well I think it is not necessary to have 30 vehicles for security you can still have a normal Travel with 4-5 Units going with you.

However in my Opinion for Trip between Prime Minister Home and Parliament
A chopper should be used to minimize disturbance for City Traffic

If Prime Minister travels on Chopper , it is best for security & also would make general people on road would not face traffic blockade

S92 Should be picked up as it is a proper platform for Travel of Pakistan's first honest Prime Minister

Such a platform for transport needs of Prime Minister / President of Pakistan I think is necessary

Why he would decline protocol . he is either stupid to defy the security situation in Pakistan or just trying to get more public attraction. In a third world countries where we lost billion dollars to corruption mismanagement by saving few million by declining security/ protocol will not do anything.

Mate in Pakistan the previous PMs have had anywhere from 30 to 50 cars in their motorcade. This is obviously excessive, also they block all the traffic along the route which is a cause for resentment among the general public. Imran Khan wants to reduce the motorcade to just a few cars ( 4 or 5) and also wants to stop this trend of stopping all the traffic. I think its a good step and should be appreciated.

I agree with him. Protocol causes a lot of problems for common commuters, costs a lot of money, wastes a lot of time and pre-indicates the route of travel for any planned attack. The lesser number of people know about the travel plans and the low profile has its own merits and security. For personal security I would suggest a highly modified and fortified vehicle which looks like any other ordinary vehicle from out side but loaded with all amenities and com equipment inside.

Imran Khan's appeal is about "change." He needs to set examples for others to follow.

Security is undeniably important but their is no need for a huge escort and to create many hurdles for the public.

Escort should be well-armored and efficient instead:

4 x MRAP (same looks and features)
2 x Long vehicles (same looks and features)
1 x Helicopter
1 x Ambulance
1 x Fire-extinguishing vehicle

Police should be vigilant and use drones to monitor activity across the route. PM can also travel in a helicopter, and avoid roads.

Yes, if their is a need to impose route somewhere due to security concerns, by all means do so. However, a route should be planned in advance and in such a way that public is not heavily affected by it. Ambulances (and patients) should be facilitated in particular.

If a leader is afraid, then s/he shouldn't be the leader in the first place. Stay at home.
