If army ever takes over, it happens due to differences between federal and GHQ. Imran khan never came into power so blaming him is totally unfair and illogical.
Those who were trying to subvert ISI, releasing memo gate, releasing reports against army in newspaper, going to known hostile countries and giving statements boundaries mean nothing, tried and trailed many times......those should be blamed. Be a little fair in ur analysis
Are you kidding me? Imran Khan has been literal lackey of the main establishment to undermine the already vulnerable democracy as it is. To the extent, the allegedly military takeover was averted due to compromised deal between General Raheel and Nawaz Sharif in 2014 hence the power sharing agreement which then the foreign policy has been assigned to the main establishment. If it wasn't for dharna, Nawaz Sharif wouldn't be forced to sign the power sharing agreement.
It is the signature of the main establishment that can go back to the past. The pattern has been same but different face. The whole point of exercise is to weaken the democracy which has been the case since 50s. MQM/Nawaz-Sharif has been launched for the same reasons as the allegedly inside deal between Musharraf and Zardari struck place with the death of Benazir Bhutto into the account. It cannot be coincident.
Zardari was not threat to the main establishment as he was doing good job damaging people's faith in democracy despite allowing Indian-funded Terrorist-outfit aka TTP to bomb everywhere and Imran Khan's pro-stance on TTP. Whereas Nawaz Sharif became too popular with the CPEC, energy sector, Metro projects, military operation [against TTP/MQM] which led to stabilize Pakistan which would lead to PMLN become favorite for 2018 election and too powerful to be controlled which is bad news for the main establishment.
What goes around, what comes around. Same thing will happen to Imran Khan if he becomes too powerful to be controlled.
I see the trick you are trying to play here. Uneducated, deprived masses cant be blamed for selling vote for a plate of biryani.
BTW if you insist on true democracy and abiding by rules, courts have central value in every democracy. Whats your opinion on court decisions and following court decisions and not bashing the courts??
Even with that if you guarantee there is not going to be manipulation with ballot boxes, vote theft...then thats the real democracy. In that ideal world nawaz and zardari should lose by margins
You cannot have cake and eat it. It is public's call that decides the fate of Pakistan. Otherwise, don't call it democracy if the fate of nation should be governed by the minority plus main establishment. It is dictatorship.
If the dictator is what you want, then bring dictator to the power. Don't call it democracy.
Democracy means public call that has to be majority in votes to decide the fate of Pakistan.
As for the court, they have been selective since 1947. Pakistan army is yet to be accounted. Musharraf is yet to be accounted. Zardari is yet to be accounted despite the allegation of 10% commission.
That selective accountability pulled on Nawaz Sharif because he was favorite for the upcoming election which didn't sit well with the main establishment. Military did takeover in the past; twice in Nawaz Sharif ruling before he could complete.
I am all about accountability but it has to be for all; fair. Otherwise, that would set wrong precedent which doesn't help. People already called this move propaganda which only empowered PMLN to be favorite for the upcoming election again. Whereas for Imran Khan being caught lackey of main establishment to undermine the already vulnerable democracy as it is loses support from the people day by day. It is backfiring.
If Nawaz Sharif was allowed to complete uninterruptedly like Zardari, then he wouldn't be favorite for the next election. But the main establishment has the habit of making martyr out of political figure unfortunately.
