I tried watching it several times but I don't find it captivating like other shows.
Maybe he just wants to create a diversion? make the awaam busy while he gets away with something? lol [emoji13][emoji23]

I highly doubt he has watched even one episode, he’s got a country to run. He was told about this on his Turkish trip and probably shown a clip or two. He knows how farigh our awaam is and do things in bhair-chaal - he has given them a past-time. Which prime minister does that?! His care is genuine and his people (public) are bewakoof.

About the show itself, I had to force myself to watch the beginning, as I did find it slow paced until first 15 episodes (shorter 45 mins version not the actual lenght) but then show picks pace like nobodies business. It becomes gripping and the villain in season 2 will blow ur head off - such a good season! Funnily enough, watching the urdu dubbed version I didn’t find the pace as slow, maybe cos I didn’t have to read subs and dubbing was done well. I still have to forward salaibi scenes, they are painful to watch.

Me too, that's the problem with Turkish serials, they are too long to watch.

Someone recommended me Ertugrul on youtube. I liked it so much that i watched all seasons in three months.
Plenty of TV series and Movies have been made about European Knights, their kings and watched all over the world. For example you must have seen Brave Heart or Troy?
Those were European Heroes, and you or anyone else didnt have a problem?
But everyone, including Muslims have plenty of Issues if a Muslim Historical Hero is being glorified and his life story shown in a TV series.
We demean ourselves.

No man, we take great pride in our heroes.

Way before we had Turkish films about Kara Murat, Tarkan, Köroğlu ,etc.... (so were fictional).

Even today, like a single soldier killed a coupist general in the face of certain death and changed the course of the coup.

Or Sütçü İmam who killed the occupying French soldier in the street when French Soldier tried took of the hijab of a Turkish woman and started the fire of resistance. Which ended with French soldiers to retreat from Turkey.

Lots of examples, we took pride in our heroes.

My cousin's 18 month old literally plays it for hours all day. She even has nightmares about Baby Shark.

That's what I am saying. If they wan't to entertain themselves the can watch Baby Shark.

If you want to learn history these dramas will not help.

How many out of 100 people you think will be interested in readying history books? Considered dry by many!!
How many people out of 100 are interested in some entertainment, a movie or a drama serial?

Be honest, do the calculation and you will understand (unless you are determined not to)

And if you think Baby Shark is entertainment and is same as watching a gripping serial or a movie, well, i will just give up.

This probably is to calm down nerves when every one is on edge. I'd not be surprised if current affair programs have seen a dip after this was launched, and that too in prime time tv. That is a good thing; they're obnoxious anyway. If anybody has access to viewership stats comparing these, be happy to hear them out.
