Where rule-of-law prevails it applies to the leaders as well as the people. Didn't you read about N.S. and his guests dining on protected species last month? Don't you think N.S. was making a political point here? - that law only applies to the little people, not to him? By getting away with such crimes doesn't he establish himself as a ruler of subjects rather than a leader of the people?And his call not to pay taxes; his call to go and invade parliament and the prime ministe’s house.These are not the demands acceptable in a democratic system where the rule of law ought to prevail.
If Zardari and the Sharifs are examples of "mature" Pakistani civilian leaders are these really men Pakistanis want to continue to see at the helm forever and ever? I'm not saying I.K. is perfect. But I think Pakistan needs a lot more Imran Khans in peaceful democratic competition with one another rather than more Sharifs and Bhutto-Zardaris.
