Islamabad: Elected Prime Minister Imran Khan coming up to his statement for pursuing austerity practically served guests with tea, biscuits and water instead of 9 dishes during the oath-taking ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr, on Saturday.

As per media reports, elected PM Imran Khan claimed before the general election that he would practice austerity after coming to power and he translated his statement into truth by practising the simplicity during the oath-taking ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr by serving his guests with tea, biscuits and water.

Guests were served with 9 dishes at the oath-taking ceremony in past.

Remember what jinnah said about even tea? Good start IK

.
1200 people invited for ceremony. 250 from IK and 950 by the President Manhoos. When 100 additional were requested by PTI, they were informed that seats were full.

950 of President's invitees got served tea and small biscoot, good!

Even when he got the "guard of honour" he was fidgeting with his fingers and looked a bit lackluster, I suspect he was just having one of those off days, but then and again he has been in opposition for 22 yrs so perhaps it may take a few days for things to sink in though I have no doubt that he will fill into the job and become a titanic figure in history of Pak political history INSHALLAH.Kudos Sir

Waterboarding Nawaz, Showbaz, Zardari, etc etc during the honeymoon period and getting the cheques signed for looted wealth will sort the finances.

'Orders' will be given soon to force the money out of the looters.

No Pakistan won't bankrupt if 9 dishes were served to the guests, but remember those dishes would have been served with public's money. And more than 50% of that public is facing food insecurity, while nearly 10% of that public eats just once in day. So such steps, no matter how small they seem at least show that the people in power are concerned by this fact.

Basically government gives a subsidy on Sugar to Sugar Mills, which makes sugarcane the most profitable crop. This has resulted in usage of prime cotton growth areas for Sugarcane cultivation, which requires many times more water than cotton. This of course also has an indirect effect on our textile industry. I think the gentleman was trying to point that out.
