Improving the quality of threads by removing Indian members.

The forum management is doing a great job handing reports. But the posts must violate the rules, it shouldn't be reported just because it hurt your ego.

Advise all sane members of the forum to report those who try to create trouble and hence decrease the quality of this forum.

Lately the number of trolls have increased.....
it's a shame that members like this OP and Shamain (who hasn't even spent 3 months) in PDF are asking to ban Indian members ....

You need to set some new rules
I have been reporting posts but no action were taken......sometimes selective moderation is also taking place......
Members are hurling abuses....when I reply my posts are being deleted...

The moderation team should at least go through the posting of some of the members be it Indian or Pakistani.....
the forum is not in a great state these days to be honest....

I have been on this forum for a very long time and in that time hundreds of Indians must have been banned for annoying or offensive posts but new Indians come and create the same problem. As long as there are Indians there will be this problem. We must just be tolerant of them and accept they will not change. The moderators cannot be expected to do the impossible and supervise every post so we just have to accept the situation and ban those Indians who go to far.

Even I have spent a significant amount of time here and seen Pakistanis and Jamaatis getting perma bans....
you by selectively targeting Indian members are putting oil to the fire......

Can we have sections for specific nationalities...like senior sections where all can't post

I have two suggestions:
1. Limit the post count for new joiners for some time period. Example 20 posts per day for a week. Idea is for new joiner to give time for acclimatization and calm down. New joiners are usually high on adrenaline.
2. Add an option, so members can vote/recommend for a person to get banned or kick out from thread. Reporting post may be doing same thing. But there are few members who are just way too stupid and jump in everywhere. They may not necessarily be posting offensive but always trolling. There is a risk of people doing gang up but you may add some check like total ban vote: 50. Vote of member of same nationality having higher weightage etc. Anyway , ban will done by moderator so they can check the record.

Everybody's saying it but nobody appears to have taken the initiative to address the issue. Simply put, there are problematic Indian members on this forum who appear to have lost their way to Bharat Rakshak and need to be shown the door. I'd name a few but in the interests of propriety I'm going to refrain from doing so.

Pakistani threads are swamped by Indian members who feel it is their divine duty to bring India into everything. Entire threads are derailed by penis-measuring contests far before any sensible and healthy debate can gain traction. I was going through some of the older threads dating back to 2008 and it was such a relief seeing Pakistani posters engaging one another in constructive discussion without the odd Indian troll bringing India into the topic.

Don't get me wrong. I don't want this forum to be Indian-free. Not at all. There are some very respectable Indian posters without whom this forum won't have the diversity of opinion which makes it that interesting to read, but unfortunately the only contribution made by a large majority of juvenile Indian posters, is to lower the average IQ of this forum. I feel strongly about this and I am certain there are many who share my point of view.

Although the poll options may appear whimsical, rest assured they are not. There is a method behind the madness.

Anonymity does draw the masses hence the votes won't be displayed publicly. Although to prove the point I'm trying to make they should be.

There is no simple or straight forward solution to this. Those who are extremely annoying, put them on the ignore list, ignorance is bliss, and in case of certain trolls, it indeed is. Others, just ignore them and neither read their posts nor reply. By replying, we simply feed the trolls. I learned this trick from @Horus, simply ignore. There is no more powerful reply than totally ignoring someone. Lastly, use the report button, though petty complaints may not get entertained as @WebMaster said. Lately I have noticed that way too many accounts are opened and I wonder if these are multiple accounts by same members. Management may want to have a look at it.

How do, or how should I perceive his message? Is he being sad about loss of Pakistanis lives? Is he trying to convey his condolence? Or is he trying to be sarcastic? I have no problem just that if he is being sarcastic he does not deserve to be called a human, because even worst of the enemy won't take advantage of such tragic news and then he comes here and complains.

I have a question..is this forum international or just pakistani or just islami or just muslim or just anti-indian or anything else?

Shameless people are a shame for their own country and compatriots.

1) Please keep this forum related to "Defence" and not a propaganda machine.

2) People are misusing World affairs forum section to post propaganda articles.

3) I don't know why people with "Very High Negative rating" are still allowed in this forum.

4) It will be really nice if Moderators can be very strict on "Trolls". Why do we need a post which doesn't have any relevance or scope with thread subject. Strict moderation on all threads and posts required.

5) I don't know if it's just me or others feel it too but members in defence.pk are racist and abusive. I believe moderators should put those people in place

It's like a Palestinian joining an Israeli defence forum. I mean, sure.... he could be there for reasonable discussion and to try and bridge differences, but that seems unlikely.

There are some high quality Indian members here, but they are less in number compared to those who simply join to have a poke at their "enemy" on an "enemy" forum.

There are 'masses' of old members that have been perma-banned from any nationality, if you cared to check without bias. If anything, Indians could argue that some of the moderators (especially the one moderator which usually indulges in one liners) are less tolerant towards Indians than say towards Pakistanis/Chinese trolls. I really don't have a problem with that since this is a Pakistani forum and it's their prerogative to do what they want to do with it.

The only reason, a person like myself comes here is primarily because it is a very good news source for all subcontinental affairs and because of the diversity of opinion that you generally get on any topic! That is actually a testament to this forum's success despite the occasional difficulties in moderating.

However if you could get @WebMaster to make it clear that Indians are not welcome here, I am sure Indians will go find some other forum. Till that happens, we will continue to participate in this forum no matter whether just another member like yourself likes it or not! I guess you just have to suck it up sometimes!

Guys, I'm a junior member on this forum but since I was tagged by the OP, here are my thoughts on this subject.

1. I think it is a great thing that this forum is able to attract people from a very diverse range of backgrounds and national origins and range of opinions - I think this is what makes this forum great and this aspect should be encouraged rather than discouraged

2. Banning someone based on national origin, race, religion in my book is a No No and would simply suck the oxygen out of this forum and more importantly is wrong - though I must admit I have been less than charitable in some squabbles with certain members on this forum (for which I am deeply sorry) it would simply be wrong to ban people based on who they are - I think Indians, Afghans, Israelis, Americans, Brazilians, Martians, Capitalists, Atheists, Socialists, etc. should all be welcome on this forum

3. The only bar on speech should be what we already have here, posting grotesque images of violence, encouraging violence or some of the other less dignified traits of humanity such as racism, etc. - it is sad for me to say that on this forum remarks that are anti-Semitic don't get the condemnation they deserve.

4. Perhaps some of the community policing matters can be delegated to a wider group - this will reduce the burden on the current moderators and will allow a more democratic regulation of ideas

5. My only request is that the rules of business allow the use of sarcasm - for what is life without sarcasm and I think Pakistanis, culturally are heavy weight contenders in this great human tradition
