Improved Security Measures Thwart Attack on Pakistani Airbases

We have cooperated with US and so have they, as Allies; we should have asked for the formula as to how they protect their foreign Airbases-Military bases like in Japan/S. Korea and Germany and learned from it. Sometimes we have to stop thinking we are too brilliant and really ask for help without prejudice.

In my Army time we did have 24 hours foot patrol along the Base and every 1000 meter a 20m armoured-Tower and every 500 meter a 5 meter watch tower. Very simple and cheap solution !

The procedure is enforced from the top down----the base commander is he culprit the first time---the second time---the BASE COMMANDER---REGIONAL COMMANDER AND CHIEF OF AIR FORCE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SUCCESSFUL ATTACK---.

SSW will not be deployed on security duties.
DSG is a force specifically dedicated to perform Base Security Duties all over Pakistan and they will continue.

All air bases have additional rapid response squads at their disposal.

its time for a fully dedicated Military Base Protection Unit to be formed / raised. to be trained on the same pattern as the civilian aviation's ASF with technical support from countries like the US,UK, Turkey etc for base security. regular soldiers, airmen and seamen are not properly trained to undertake the base security job. maybe units from the SPD can be deployed at all mil-bases. the military is getting a bad image/reputation everytime an incident happens.

SSG are great addition

Looking at pictures, From structural visual perspective it does not appears to be great deal better you need

Not to mention Armored personnel carriers situated with stationed soldiers in it

We really need easily deployable

a) Towers
b) Wall
c) Trenches and Search Lights
d) Trained Dogs
f) 2 Snipers

For proper security setup


Its strange seeing security personnel in Pickup trucks sitting in open visual sight
Open too sniper rounds from distance hardly satisfying (just with visual pictures) that have been posted


Sometimes I feel our Defense Industry needs specialist branch (Engineering Units) that deal in securing Parameter defense, and we need to develop new enhancements in that also in private sector

no sir and thats exactly my point. police is police. base security is a total different animal.

After reading the above I really now know the reason behind the privatization of Public Military Industries. As Pak Military has two work more on Internal-External Security then of R&D and manufacturing.
