implications of US collapse on Pakistan and the region

While I dont think the United States is about to collapse/disintegrate any time soon I wish to discuss with you guys the implications on Pakistan, the region and even the world if the US collapses/disintegrates some time in the future. First Pakistan, what do you think would happen here? Inflation would run out of control. The value of the Pakistani currency would collapse. Shortage of food, important drugs. Fuel shortage. Rebellions in various parts of the country. That is as far as I can think. For the region may be some war between India and Pakistan or India and China. If no war, then may be the disintegration of India or China. Chinese economy would collapse and there would be mass unrest. Same with India. And droughts in many parts of the globe. Now for the world. The responsibility of world leadership would fall on the European Union. After a long period of global unrest the Euro would fill the vacuum the Dollar created. The European Union would become a federation and a new world superpower. The parts of the United States which lie in the north may recreate a new federation including Canada thus creating a new superpower. Russia taking advantage of the turmoil would recreate a new federal union which includes Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan thus creating again a sort of Soviet Union and a superpower but based on capitalism. What in your view could be the implications on the local, regional and global levels if United States collapses? Please post your scenarios.

the world cannot let the US collapse.......coz as of now the worlds economy depends on them......a colapse of the US would just bring an economic crisis that would be something that nobody would be able to handle......

even though china is emerging as an economic giant.....its ecomomy is also entangled with that of the US. .....even china would become a big looser....if this is the case that can happen to china then imagine the plight of the rest of the world nations ....paticularly the ones that already are in economic shambles(PAKISTAN comes here because of mismanagement by the politicians/military dictators for their own advantages......)(p.s:this is the truth even if you cant accept-no pun intended.......)

so the situation is the US will not go down alone(if any such thing happens)...it will take the entire world with it

ITS GROWTH is internal demand

YES IT WANTS FDI but not at CHINA LEVEL,

THATS WHY whilst uk usa and europe all declined GDP at minus or zero % last 2 years INDIA STIL GROWS AT 7% even in recession.

ONE OTHER THING AMERICA WILL NOT FAIL./COLLAPSE.

Exports from china to USA for the Year 2009 is over $ 300 Billion and china holds over $1 Trillion , if USA goes bust - those trillion dollars is worth 1 trillion toilet papers.

Saudi exports 40% of its oil to USA

India's exports to USA is about $55 billion.

Without the IMF loans and US aid pakistan could not even cover few months of imports. Present situation is better because of the aid from USA and other agencies.

The US will not collapse. Never. Ever. The worst that could happen is that it would not be as dominant as force as it is now. However, if the US does collapse, the rest of the world will follow shortly after. The world runs on the US economy unfortunately.

The Soviet Union "collapsed" which caused some difficulties for some dependent nations like Cuba. But all survived. It has taken about 20 years, a generation, for the Russians to make their way back. Perhaps something similar but increased in magnitude, would occur if the USA collapsed economically. The more worrisome problem would be what political system would the collapsed USA adopt? Presumably the present system would have "failed". A Chinese model of authoritarian one-party rule with "crony capitalism"? Then what? Imagine a pi$$ed off America with all those weapons and nothing to do (no work). I don't think the collapse of the USA would be a pretty thing. If you really thought it was going to happen, then Australia/New Zealand is the place to hunker down.
