Ghandhara was separate from majority india now keep crying.
Gandha-har (old in Hindustani & still current in Iranian/Farsi) or Kanda-Har (new in Hindustani).
What does Gandha-har mean in Farsi or other Iranic Languages? Nothing.
What does Gandha-har or Kanda-har mean in Hindustani? It means "Onion-growing" or "Onion-farming" region.
Clearly even the Farsi or Iranic speakers are using an Indic-origin word to refer to the place. There must be some reason for it, no?
Still further, as an exercise, what does Gandha mean in Punjabi? What does Kanda mean in Marathi, Gujarati?
And this is not unusual. For another example, we can note that the official language and lingua franca of Baghdad is Arabic. But what does "Baghdad" mean in Arabic? Nothing. It is even strangely pronounced "bug-daad" in Arabic. Now, what does "Baghdad" mean in Iranic/Farsi? It is pronounced "Baagh-Daad" and mean "the Garden (baagh) that gives (daad)" or the "garden of plenty". So, keeping in mind the name of the place, who do you think founded Baghdad? The Arabic-speakers or Iranic-speakers?
Please think about all these things. Thank you.
