Seems like IMF wants more stringent Accountability laws which the thieves reversed. Both wont budge.

This is turn impacted establishment procurement budget.

Zardari must be laughing at the PMLN and Establishment. Zardari is so smart in an evil way that he can take on PDM and Establishment together. I won’t be surprised if he manipulates into making Bilawal PM in the next elections.

In one of the interview he vowed to run circles around PMLN and the Khudday line comment was not only for Faiz.

Not PMLN but it seems IMF waiting for 17th July by elections results, to decides fate of Pakistan financial support.

If PTI wins chunks of seats that means system needs to reboot, current GOP didnt have a stomach to carries out reforms agenda anymore as they didnt have public support for unpopular decisions, interim govt, new elections, if that is all going to happens then why waste renewal of IMF support to this govt. IMF will wait until new elections and a new govt inplace for renewed program. All the efforts, sacrifices of past three months by the nation and govt will go down the drain, more uncertainity brings more chaos and destruction. This is what PTI and its supporters are aiming at, at the moment.

Lets see if PTI wins or Pakistan.
Lol IMF waiting on by elections.
First of all take your head out of the sand and understand how IMF works. It doesn’t care about poltics or who is in government. It is Pakistan that needs to get a loan and for that they put a set of conditions etc. Your assertion of IMF waiting on by election results is laughable.

And what efforts and sacrifices for 3 months? LoL. Isnt that what PTI was doing for past three years and since PDM has come it is even worse than before. What you have right now is solely on PDM and its supporters like you who have defended and cheered this illegitimate govt made on turn coats and lotas with help of military establishment. Why are you sulking about legitimacy when you have Raja Riaz as opposition leader and 11 parties together united in a govt, and Military is also neutral?

.
Bcz of successful IKs anti GOP and Anti Establishment compaign of past three months. It puts enough doubts at IMF management that GOP lacks legitimacy.
Congratulations; As PTI winning at least at IMF for now, lets see what happens on 17th July.

God forbids if PTI wins on that day Pakistan will definately lost. It will not survives of next 4-5 months unstability for sure.

You don't know how does IMF works and so is the current gov do you? So much for your "experience".

Even your sanaullah has started saying(crying) that we have done more than what was required and still they are not giving us money.

Long answer short US is not forgiving his b**** bajwa.

Zardari is just a pawn of army, but this is the first time army is at the losing end, in the past only politicians used to suffer, this time generals have also been caught with their pants down..........

Finance minister says govt will not withdraw income tax exemption announced for salaried class
View attachment 855451
Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has expressed hope that the government would reach an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to revive the stalled $6 billion programme within "a day or two".

He made the remarks while speaking to reporters at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Monday.

Responding to a question, Miftah said the IMF did not have any objection over the increase in the salaries of the government employees.

He also added that income tax exemption announced for salaried individuals will not be withdrawn and the government will shield those earning less than Rs1.2 million annually.

The finance minister said only the rich will be taxed while the poor will be given a relief.

The government is looking for new avenues to increase burden on the rich and may impose taxes on gifts, jack up rates for corporate sectors as well as allow unconditional import of gold to bring it into the tax ambit.

Other measures are also being considered to bridge gaps with the International Monetary Fund before the end of the month. The global lender still sees the government’s budget numbers unrealistic that require more taxation measures along with cuts in expenditures.

The Finance Bill 2022-23 that Miftah Ismail tabled in the National Assembly on June 10 may undergo some major changes to raise maximum tax from the rich.

In addition to finding more sources of income to the satisfaction of the IMF, the government also wants to give a message to the less-privileged classes that the elite class is also paying more than their usual annual tax contribution, according to the sources.

Pakistan is halfway through a $6 billion, 39-month IMF programme that had stalled over the lender's concerns over the status of some of its objectives, including fiscal consolidation.

The next tranche that Pakistan is to receive upon a successful review is $900 million, and a green light from the IMF would also open up other global funding avenues.

PM annoyed over tax hike

The finance minister said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was angry over the tax hike and urged to reduce the tax burden on masses.

He said the government refunds of pharmaceutical companies will be reimbursed in the next four days.

He also revealed that during the last financial year only 14 to 15 kilogrammes were brought in the country through legal channel while whopping 80 tons of gold was being smuggled into the country every year.

Day OR Two, a minister lying to the public for political gain, nothing else.

No one trusts thugs, thieves, and robbers.

These thugs, thieves, and robbers drop their heads so low that even IMF enjoys the show and wishes to prolong it.

The fruit for the enjoyment of imported government. 'Dhobi kay kuttay na ghar k na ghat k' is the fittest example of them.

Pakistan, IMF reach staff level agreement, statement expected by tonight: sources

A staff level agreement has been reached with the IMF, sources familiar with the matter told Profit earlier today. Confirmation from the IMF side was not available, however. The Fund does not comment on talks with countries before a formal statement has been released.

But government sources connected with the talks tell Profit that an agreement has finally been reached and the fund will issue a statement during working hours in Washington DC on Wednesday. The first tranche is expected to be SDR894 million, equal to $1.2 billion. The program has been extended till July 2023, and total program size increased by $1bn to reach $7bn.

“Pakistan has met all prior actions for the IMF board approval already” the same source told Profit.

The talks had dragged on over questions on the revenue plan, power tariff adjustments, the question of those Independent Power Producers (IPPs) whose tariff has not been renegotiated, the fiscal surplus that the provinces are expected to run, and the quarterly fiscal targets.

“The MOU with the provinces has been signed and shared with the fund” the source tells Profit. Agreement on all the other issues was clinched last night. The government is now expecting an announcement from the IMF by later tonight.
