Yeah, that's not true. She may be a darling of the West but her core raisin d'etre is that she, like her father, is someone all the people of Myanmar love and respect irrespective of race or religion. She came on the scene by winning 83% of the vote in the 1990 election only to be thrown into house arrest afterwards. It was only then that the West knew who she was. She hangs out in the West because firstly the West supported her in her time under house arrest and secondly because she is like a brand ambassador of Myanmar to the West. Also, the West don't give a diddly damn about Rohingyas.
