I have read this days ago. If Guizhou continues this order when this situation is already going public, that's perhaps why it is the poorest province in China, local authority has no spirits of development and reforms. But from another prospective, Guizhou is too mountainous, lack in inhabitable land, it's quite contradictory.

China needs more kids. It befalls me why they are still threatening people like this. Just let them have as many without incentives and then judge what is happening of the fertility rate.

According to current law, if the wife will give 2nd baby ... if she or her new husband not come from the only child family, im afraid that 2nd baby is illeagle in China. The wife can give birth to her 2nd baby, but need to pay thousands RMB for over-one-child fee to local government ... or 2nd baby lost registered permanent residence ... without it the baby can't go to public school, can't get national medical treatment, can't get social security, can't enjoy citizen welfare etc ... the baby will be a unregistered person in China.

So China's One-Child policy is not a JOKE ! And the One-Child Law is very strict.

You have an excess capacity in Construction and building. Build more cities and build them smart. Beijing is such a big city, but the density compared to many modern cities is fairly low. Hong Kong is a very dense place, yet it is able to maintain very high living standards.

Also, don't solve the problem by eliminating the problem. Solve the problem, by innovating.

A developing country with average age of 37 do need kids.

To maintain that population and not have a demographic collapse.

Remember, population creates Markets, and Markets and access to them is the single biggest thing in the world.

One final point- Do you know how US was formed? United States essentially deliberately invited European refugees, and settled them in America. The whole purpose was to demographically demolish Native Americans. It is a fact that you can not safely hold a territory with hostile population on it.

China has too much land that is tenous. Xinjiang and Tibet will have to be settled to create a firm grip.

The single biggest problem to that is connectivity. Those areas are not connected to anywhere. Though there is a problem of arable land, that can be solved using appropriate technologies.

30 years ago, the purpose of One-Child policy is to reduce billion of population to 0.6~0.5 billion in China ... recent years new policy is new Chinese family which the wife or husband come from the One-Child family can have two babies.

I come from the One-Child family, i support two babies for every Chinese family but not more. I hate a crowd & poor China, welcome a comfortable & high-quality China.

Doesn't matter. On the whole HK is a dream for many people. We must also remember that a lot of congestion is not due to local population but due to frequent visitors.

See, if you use technology properly, anything can be done in the world. Build huge and large cities. If you want food, build vertical farms. If you want water, desalinate it.

Of course all have their own problems. But if there can be an assured reliable low cost energy source, everything can be solved. Most of the cost to desalinate, or distill is simply energy. If you have energy, you can also build vertical farms.

That is why, China, rather the world, must focus on fusion. If we are actually able to master it, it will be a revolution like Agriculture.

Before agriculture, we lived a nomadic life of animals, without any significant strength. Agriculture is the reason human life exploded.
