'If Pak fails to act against terrorists, US will get it done in a different way'

Pakistan is being asked to bring Taliban to the negotiating table, and as they enter Pakistan .. drone them . let Afghanistan and Pakistan bleed from the blow back and then start over again until US public demands to stop this endless war and bring the troops back. but thats not going to happen anytime soon.

in the meantime, taliban have made allies and enjoy support in the north as well among non Pashton population. an obvious consequence from the persecution of Pashton population in particular by the northern alliance leadership.
what a disaster.

USA will pursue its own policies, and so will Pakistan. Each nation is entitled to pursue its own respective national interests, equally. As far as the Taliban are concerned, they will try to extract maximum benefit for themselves too. Pakistan's main vulnerabilities lie not in blow back from the Afghan mess, but in its weak economy and its dire social prognosis. Blaming others for the consequences arising from these internal issues cannot work in resolving them.

Seems to me the Pakistani leadership is making one blunder after another

The First is that from having the unilateral support of USA for over 70 years you have fallen to become of no serious consequence to USA in South Asia.

Instead USA is now talking of a Indo Pacific strategic alliance with your arch rival India.

No matter how you dress this up losing USA to India is a strategic blunder of the highest order

The second huge blunder is your use of proxies from Afghanistan. You funded and supported them for decades . Now the Dogs you have nurtured are biting you back. Causing mayhem in your own nation

The Third was your decision to hand ultimate power to your military. A military that is fixated on India and will never allow peace in South Asia. No civllian leadership will ever be allowed to make peace or decisions on strategic consequence without the Generals involved.

No GENERALS would have that sort of power in India or any nation of stability and real governance would never allow a situation where every word uttered is determined by the generals

The leadership, civil and military both have done an excellent job these recent years. We're by no means finished, but we sure as hell are getting here.

Terrorist attacks have fallen significantly compared to 2007-13 due to operation Zarb-e-Azb. CPEC and other projects throughout the country are on the rise. We're also taking action against corruption as evidenced by the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif due to his involvement in the Panama papers.

Military and civil relations have greatly improved, Gen. Raheel could've easily taken a extension and and would've stayed in power for longer, but he didn't. He finished his term peacefully and handed over the post to his successor.

The military is fixated not on India, but keeping the country safe from terrorism and other interior threats, to which India is directly linked as evidenced by the confession of the caught Indian spy Kulbushan Yadev.

Pakistan suffered most from these taliban scum and yet you people have the nerves to tell us that we'd sponsor and support these children-killing barbarians? And to tell us to " Do more " ? **** right off.
