Nuclear weapons sofar have only created balance between the rivals, India and Pakistan are no exception.
I don't believe there will be a nuclear exchange ever between us since there will be no winner, only losers.

Though I agree with you, the article is trying to scare monger, and is baised.
There are some other points, which are valid in it.

India and Pakistan had a war as early as 1999 as well as they are still at each other's throats. None of us would be suprised if we had a war in the near future, while russia and us havent fought each for nearly 60 years, other than usual sabre ratlling.
Pakistan as a country right now is politically very unstable, and there is a good chance as much as any other secanrio that their country may fall into hands of mullah's.
There are more chances of India and Pakistan going to a nuclear war than any other country in the west

Terrorist party BJP wanted war with Pak in 2002. Thousands of Indians soldiers died even without single bullet fired by Pak and then coward impotent Vajpai had to call back their army from borders. So in future only India is likely to start war.

Many thanks for a very nice analytical view points. All of these are merely hypothetical postulations. There have been only two places the bombs were dropped in anger. Hiroshima and Nagasaki; resulting in enormous loss of life and property. It is history and thus a fact, not a mere theory. Modern bombs are 100 times more powerful and theregfore likely to cause a lot more damage. Whether the cities/ nation will survive or not, is not the point. The question is:

" Is a nation willing to accept losses on such scale to obtain their war objectives?? For example, both Pakistan and India have dirty bombs ( nuclear) thus even in the unliklely event of us coming out on top, would the victory would have been worth it???. "

Dear Niaz,

Luckily so are the politicians (humans with families) in Pakistan and India. I doubt they will nuke each other over Kashmir or for any other reason. The possession of nukes definately keep Pakistan from being unfairly pressuried by superpowers.
