Realistically speaking, i doubt china will go to to at , unless they want a repeat of (China offered Pak to join the war and Ayub Khan a gentleman fool didn't, neither did he accept territory offered by India) 62 (this time they could actually hold the Indian territory) ...

But for that to happen, India would have to act foolish, like bombing Chinese territory or people (working on CPEC Projects). That would give China a reason to get involved in the conflict.

Apart from that China would surely help Pak with diplomatic and material support!

Before the war breaks out, China will see the war clouds and you will find the Salmon run.
This is the International norm with every nations.

Chinese are businessmen they will not get involved which can harm them.the recent example being NK with them they even had a mutual defence agreement .

Even if China doesn't join the water directly, they will provide Pakistan with huge amounts of world class advanced weapons systems that we can use to defeat india. Pakistan has enough fighting men both military and otherwise to take on india even if it is 7x bigger than us and has abundant access to the world's most advanced weapons systems whilst we are denied this privilege.

Yes it has to like US does but with smaller nations because that way you won't lose or risk much .to assert you don't go after bigger nations .by threatening smaller nations you see the reaction of other nations and if no one opposes you take one small step further .

of course, it is a case-by-case situation. After US lost investments in Cuba, they didn't go for outright invasion, even though Cuba isn't big. Full scale war isn't likely but as China military power grows, it will be less likely to have inaction.

If it is, then so be it.

If China thinks for a second their involvement in any war between India & Pakistan will be limited to Sub-continent, they are massively ignorant.

The Trade deficit China enjoys with India is more than the total cost of CPEC.

There are more Chinese people in India and Indian people in China than people exchange between China & Pakistan. Understand the implications first.

I give you an example -- Libya. China pretty much lost all its investment there. Any contract may be revoked if there is a regime change.
