Hi it would be great to discuss if we did not had dispute in the past. What would have been scenerio if we would have not been enemies. If we would have been more of brothers. How would have changed the dynamics of south asia..

The main intention is what we can learn from Pakistan and what Pakistan would have learnt from India.

Please keep Kashmir out of this(we can never be friends with the discussion of Kashmir in place.)

@Aswin - no one in Pakistan is ready to talk any thing other then kashmir..so this thread is a waste

If we were not enemies, we might rejoin by now..... A Great SuperPower in Asia,
India + Pakistan + Bangladesh....
what would be a name??

US would have been our ally from the beginning to counter USSR and China.

US would have been less pro-Israel and more even handed in the region.

india would have had better relations with China with Pakistan putting pressure on China to normalize them.

Pakistan students would have had access to Indian Universities, IITs and IIMs

No terrorism in any of south Asian countries.

Indian foreign investments in Pakistan would have been quite significant.

Aids would be managed locally between the south asian allies so there would be no dependence on south Asian countries.

But there would one field where we would have not settled any disputes. Cricket anyone :yahoo:

I don't think so. Normal ties with India does not means bad ties with China

LOL yeah !! Do u think we do not have universities like these in Pakistan :D

No terrorism in any of south Asian countries.
Well terrorism in South Asia is not due to conflict between India and Pakistan. It is because of conflict between Pakistan and Afganistan

Indian foreign investments in Pakistan would have been quite significant.
Yes in present circumstances, however, since Pakistani economy was libralized back in 60s, chances are that till early 90s western brands would have smuggled to India via Pakistan thus making strong economic base here

If we do not have to fight with each other then i think our revenues matches our expenses

But there would one field where we would have not settled any disputes. Cricket anyone :yahoo:
yes I always dream of cricket ground at Wagah where half ground be in India and half in Pakistan. LOL will be great source of revenue generation for both countries

Oops, I thought this thread was if India/Pakistan/Bangladesh were all one country.

If they were separate, but friendly countries, then I think Pakistan would still have been friends with China, regadless of its relationship with India.

Agree with your points, though.

No I did not meant Pakistan would be ruining its relations with China but would make her and India come on the negotiation table so as to avoid conflicts among each other on common interest grounds

Regarding universities euivalent to IITs and IIM. I think no Pakistan does not have any university which ranks 3rd or above in the whole world.

Even as business man I see Pakistan as a big market for investment in the field of Education industry and HRD

Why did Pakistan and India part anyway?

There were differences among us. There are many threads related to that. If we started discussing them here we will loose the grounds which we have and it will turn again into India Vs Pakistan

Republic of Himalayan

Before 47 it used to be called India. So why not USI (United States of India) with a more federated tinge to it, taking Muslim/Sikh/Christian sensitivities into view. The subcontinent's Muslims would have been a significant minority. We would be the largest Hindu and Muslim nation on the planet by head count. WoW!

We would have the richness of Urdu and ghazals which Bollywood has lost complete sight of. We would also have some of the best rock bands to call our own!
