.
Then what did Taliban did in the name of Sharia in Afghanistan?. Then you want to banish civilian courts?

Forgot about Bangladesh Genocide by your Army already?. 1-3 million people. When you punish those responsible army men then we will talk about Hindu barbarism.

Holy cow! What is wrong with you? He was just making a point about how it is ignorant to misjudge the whole damn religion or creed based on the actions of a few individuals or group. You are being impulsive, exposing your psyche for all to see. You can either stick to the context of our conversation or go troll about Pakistan somewhere else.

Small, insignificant whatever, isn't it Un-islamic to drink alcohol.

Lying is Un-Islamic. I lie, but I'm bloody proud to be Muslim. You're point, if there is any, is retarded.

Isn't it in Madrassas the hatred is taught against non-believers (not in all but in many madrassas)

OMG. You do realize that you are making the Pakistanis here laugh…Madrassahs to the overwhelmingly large portion of Pakistanis are nothing more than a cheap (sometimes cost free) educational alterative where kids no more than 16 years of age learn to read a Quran and eat free food. If someone thinks that the present education system is inadequate, this is how you completely jump off to comprehensively retarded conclusions.

If you don’t understand anyone of the ideas people have for our country, then don’t be so quick to judge. This is not an Indian media talk show people where Islamic ideas are all guns and bombs and skull collectors, this is reality.

Now there was one thing I always wanted to do if I was in charge of Pakistan…that is to introduce the DRAFT (is that moaning I hear from the Burgers in the background?) or territorial armies at the very least. What do my Pakistani friends think?

Here is my actual response to the topic...

If I were incharge of Pakistan I would begin by enforcing Islamic education on grassroots level because I feel that whoever that has lived in Pakistan would realise that Islam is not properly being practiced and Sharia will come but only on the most calm way by approaching mosques and giving mosque going muslims the power to controll the government voting will only be for the educated and society on the whole will evolve from within itself. A socialised medical system will be put into place where it would be the right of all to demand free health care. The court system will remain optional to the person who is dealt with justice. Urdu will be the national language and the Military will be a productive unit of the society where all its generated profits will be sent back to make it a better institution. The budget used by the Anti corruption cell in Pakistan will actually be used to make a program where the system itself will detect corruption hence taking the human out of it.

My ideology of a better education system is descrbed in the following points

The education system our country follows at present is outdated. The root of the problem is the poor standard of primary level education. In Pakistan parents send their children to school at a tender age of three which is not acceptable.

• Children should start school at the age of five. It is the age when learning skills of a child start to develop.

• Malpractices like corporal punishment must be abolished.

• Weaker students should be in a different section and given extra attention.

• Those children who are from an uneducated background or those who have to work after school should be put in a different section, they can take an extra year to finish there curriculum because of their burdens.

• The international baccalaureate system should be adopted in Pakistan. This will then lead to the growth of the nation.

• Islamic education should be promoted at grassroots level. This will help bond the society because it is the one uniting factor of Pakistan.

These little changes can lead to a large boost in the youth of Pakistan.

My opinion on human rights are simple I believe that from independence up till today Pakistan has failed to provide its citizens freedom. Our Quaid has fought hard to earn freedom for the people of Pakistan but only left us with the responsibility to spread it and stop feudal lords but no actions have been taken by any government. Take for example that all citizens of Pakistan have a constitutional right and deserve clean and drinking water but they still don’t get it. The beginning of reform should start from urban areas and move to rural areas. From freedom of speech to distribution of wealth land reform should be imposed which will lead to reduction of slavery. Child labor would be abolished by strict law enforcement. Parents and employers of children who are forced to work will be imprisoned and strict fines will be put on them. Such human rights will not only give boost to the morale of Pakistanis but its foreign relations will be improved as well.

My economical actions or my first and foremost attention will be to the following points;

• Provision of electricity water and road network the most crucial things needed for an industry to develop.

• Stopping all non developmental expenditure.

• Develop rural based industries that need raw material from the area.

• Setting up large scale industries for skilled labor like rail line manufacturing or ship building.

• Incentives for small scale industry like cuts or rebates in taxes.

• Providing funds for small farmers to cover their debts.

• Distributing feudal lands to small farmers as incentive to boost agriculture production.

• Stopping almost all import of luxury goods that are leading to decrease in foreign exchange.

• Allowing price control on every item.

• Controlling defense budget by improving relations with neighbors.

• Repayment of high interest rate borrowings.

• Attract foreign investment for large industrial projects.

• Promoting video conferences instead of foreign tours by head of state with large number of contingents.

Such reforms will lead to reduction of debts of the nation and help to restore the economy.

The health system deserves the following reform.

• I believe the solution is to promote health insurance and spend all given aid and budget to get taxpayers free insurance covering a minimum of at least two million rupees per annum for their family and themselves.

• A rule to develop hospitals as part of rural development program with some added reforms like, first the development of hospitals then mosque followed by the school and finally homes.

• The major issue is how to promote local doctor’s to remain in their village rather than move to urban areas and I believe it can be solved by giving them a position in the local council and an increment like free education for children, reduction in taxes and state run villas in their village.

• Hospitals must be forced to conform to standards set by the state. If hospitals fail to do so they will not be recognized by the state and will not be given privileges like free electricity.

The problems of Pakistan’s medical issues may be deep but if taken step by step we can move toward a healthier Pakistan.

Pakistan from its creation has been a fuse of different cultures and their will be a lot of differences amongst the people but there is only one binding factor and that is Islam it is the one common factor that led to the creation of our country in the first place. I feel the following measures are necessary to curtail law and order in Pakistan.

• The first and foremost requirement is to give independence to the judiciary with the instructions to decide all pending law suits efficiently in a shorter period of time.

• Bring reforms in police by giving justified compensation, training and education. Promote harmony between police and public through media.

• Gradually induct Shariah law which is more commonly accepted by the people of Pakistan.

• Educate public by spreading the importance of law in Pakistan.

• Quick punishments to the culprits rather than making them stay in jail on taxpayer money.

• Consolidate various law enforcement agencies into one police department for better coordination.

• Providing latest equipment and ammunition to the police for better enforcement of law.

I feel that these steps will help Pakistan in the process of progress and the steps I would take if I were leader of Pakistan.

What's wrong with that. They are part capitalistic and part welfare state. A lot of people there are happy with a normal Volvo car and they never crave for BMWs, Ferraris etc. Isn't it the over greediness of the man responsible of all the ills in this world.

Capatalism is the only name of the game, you can call it greed. Capatalism does not create ills in the world, but infact it rectafies it.

Welfare just sickens me to death, it create lethargic people who cannot think for themselve beside what the big daddy tell them. It create a hungry monoasthic society that needs to be stroke by the goverment for there high. What a way to live.

Have some high goals and expectation, and chase it. You will find out that end result to be sweet, but more important the decision and struggles you made more sweeter.

It did, look at the present economic crisis. Isn't it because of over greediness of some CEOs?.

Welfare in places like India may not be possible, but in small countries like scandinavian countries almost all people pay the taxes (to the tune of 50% income) , so they have every right to get welfare from govt. This may not be possible in India where vast population doesn't pay tax and because of a lot of poverty.

Have some high goals and expectation, and chase it. You will find out that end result to be sweet, but more important the decision and struggles you made more sweeter.

Are you saying scandinavian countries are not innovative?. For the size of their country and population they are very innovative. Just some company names that come to my mind from these countries
SAAB (Gripen fame)
Ikea
Amersham
Ericcsson (sony ericcsson)
Electrolux

hey man i think territorial armies are un affordable and the draft won't work but good ideas none the less

Since we are moving away from this tread this will be my last comment. One question Who know how to spend your money you or the Gov't, no matter how small or big the country is?

My answer would be me. When the gov't becomes your half spender, that where my previous comment comes into play let me repeat for you again, and try to understand it:

it create lethargic people who cannot think for themselve beside what the big daddy tell them. It create a hungry monoasthic society that needs to be stroke by the goverment for there high.

. . . . .
Minimum wage means a minimum per hourly wage you can pay a person for any type of work.

I think some people in Pakistan are under paid and exploited.
Some of you guys have made excellent contributions here.

One of the things that inspired this thread was that of late you'll notice that the Pak government is closely monitoring our comments (not for something sinister of course... probably). Things that are FIRST theorized here, would somehow later be reused in the Pak media, on Geo's talk shows, etc.

So make your comments count people.

I would focus our anti-terrorism efforts not on anti-Indian/anti-Afghan elements but on anti-China elements.

Heck if I were in charge of Pakistan, I would ensure the construction of Kalabagh dam and make use of it only as a power generation plant, thereby eliminating the possibility of reducing the flow of water to Sindh

okay, this is the next dictator of Pakistan speaking, and I will rule you all with an iron fist, so listen up! I'll tell you only some of my plans for domination, not all because that's my secret!

first thing's first

  • crack down on corruption! recently the new govt. decided to eliminate the NAB or at least weaken it. I would bring the agency back to life and expand its role to cover all govt. agencies, land-owning agencies, law-enforcement, judiciary, politicians, military personnel, etc. The agency, itself, will have a system of checks and balances to regulate itself as well. however, to prevent corruption on the personal moral and ethical level, we must offer good incentives to workers, such as high salaries and benefits. I've just briefly touched the tip of the iceberg, there's more but it's a secret.
  • pass laws that will scare the hell out of everyone. threaten them with lengthy jail sentences. we can also create a wing of the NAB to handle complaints from citizens. for example, I can complain to the NAB that a police officer is asking me for bribes. the NAB will investigate the matter and can later file a case against the police officer. this can apply to anyone, no matter what or who they work for. I know that you all agree with this, empower citizens by listening to their complaints against corruption, and you will cut the weed by its roots.
  • this can't be done without a truly professional judiciary, the likes of which we've never seen in Pakistan. although, I doubt this can be done, considering the fact how politicised and corrupt our judiciary is. However, the NAB can have a wing specially dedicated to monitoring this stuff. likewise, a judge can be prosecuted if caught by the "Sauron-like" eye of the NAB. once, we eliminate corruption in this area, we can easily take care of the others.
  • however, there's the question of time and the speed at which cases can be done. you can expect thousands of people waiting their turn in line for their court case, after I enforce my crackdown on corruption. honestly, I don't see any other solution to this problem, except through Shariah law, which can deliver immediate justice, provided with legal evidence of course.
  • now, there's the question of business and how it's conducted in Pakistan. everyone knows business transactions cannot occur in Pakistan without bribes. there's also the question of companies and enterprises violating govt. laws, engaging in corrupt practices, and of course, avoiding their taxes. over here, we will have to legislate laws that promote accounting practices. some of you may know, practices such as segregation of duties, transparent internal control procedures. Basically, we have to pass the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. we need revolutionize how business is done in Pakistan. Everything must be transparent and in written records, that means all balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, etc. everything must be available to the public, especially stockholders.

I'll have more for you all later...
