90s was not a good era, if you leave MQM today nobody will stop you, prime example is nadia gabol who is ex MQM minister human rights herself, left MQM and joined PPP recently
in 90s MQM suspected that if he defected he will join the agency/haqiqi tell all the secrets and start killing MQM
anybody who defencted from MQM in the 90s was considered as a traitor, because agency killed all the top leaders of MQMand MQM had become very weak and was fearing more division and agency was the enemy of MQM

When it started initially everybody was following it but later on people realised that they are supporting a mirage nothing else.
