What's new

If China and the US split the tech world, that could come at a cost to consumers

Now,china is the largest market , not USA ,china single market is larger than the five eye alliance

It is the market support the technology , not the technology dominates the market.
without market some technology will die

It is the time for the none five eyes alliance countries break the technology monopoly

As I said time will tell. Nothing is impossible but in the current scenario Huawei is in a bind. if it is fully frozen out by the west I do not really see it being in any position to respond immediately and adequately out of the blue and create an alternative set of products that will gain traction in the global market.

You are wrong, in fact Huawei has already responded immediately by announcing their OS "Hongmeng". What you haven't seen is China response by banning US tech in Chinese market.

Furthrmore, this is not about being between possible and impossible, but being highly or not highly possible for China to do retaliation by protecting Huawei interet.

We will have to agree to disagree. I have not seen any cutting edge product from china that was imagined and developed in China and made it into the global market. So far it has been simply copy and mass produce items developed by others.

I do not believe huawei has much capacity to retaliate, but will change my mind if i ever see 'hong meng' based phones in the shops of london.

I have seen them....also seen huawei products removed from sale univerally in UK over the last month.

Sorry to have to break it to you the products you mentioned are not considered premium products in the west. They are simply copying apple and Samsung as reflected in their price. Check out engadget to understand where chinese brands stands in the pecking order.

They are not challenging anything or anyone here.
