Three International Security Assistance Force service members died following an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan today, said the Western military alliance in a statement on Tuesday.
ISAF did not disclose further information regarding the exact location of the incident and nationality of the deceased soldiers.
However, most foreign troops in southern Afghanistan are from the United States.
Attacks on foreign troops are expected to rise in the next few days, as Taliban militants have announced the beginning of their spring offensive across the war-torn country.
The United States and its allies invaded Afghanistan as part of Washingtons so-called war on terror. The offensive removed the Taliban from power, but the country is still gripped by insecurity.
The Afghan conflict has seen a surge in attacks on foreign troops in recent months. Around three hundred foreign soldiers were killed in the war-torn country last year alone.
