“Three International Security Assistance Force service members died following an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan today,” said the Western military alliance in a statement on Tuesday.

ISAF did not disclose further information regarding the exact location of the incident and nationality of the deceased soldiers.

However, most foreign troops in southern Afghanistan are from the United States.

Attacks on foreign troops are expected to rise in the next few days, as Taliban militants have announced the beginning of their spring offensive across the war-torn country.

The United States and its allies invaded Afghanistan as part of Washington’s so-called war on terror. The offensive removed the Taliban from power, but the country is still gripped by insecurity.

The Afghan conflict has seen a surge in attacks on foreign troops in recent months. Around three hundred foreign soldiers were killed in the war-torn country last year alone.

We really just need to get our troops out of there. There's no point in these wars anymore.

Good, let's hope for more IEDs to come. :)

Don't celebrate someones death like that. These soldiers are only following orders, some might be bad but there are good soldiers too and trust me most of them are not happy being in Afghan.

Death to invaders i believe that, but they are not pulling the strings its that 1%.

Death to invaders i know, but they are not pulling the strings its that 1%.

That's actually true, even our troops don't trust the government anymore.

Let him vent. He probably does not have the courage to face anything more dangerous than crossing the street so he needs all the proxies he can get.

The Americans are going to leave Afghanistan the same way as the Soviets and British before them had. With nothing to show for after more than 10 years of war.

What is there to 'show' when the country have nothing worthwhile to take, if taking stuff is what you are trying to say?

But what it does show is that Afghanistan will deserve constant observation because the country is essentially a breeding ground for Islamic militancy and a constant headache for the civilized world.

I am sure the families of the 3494 Afghan civilians killed by ied's in the last four years thank you for you kind words.

Considering the fatality/casualty rate of thse attacks add in another 6000 who would have been severly injured.

Rather than posturing at your keyboard consider this image and realise every red *** is the pool of blood from some one killed by a coward who set a mine on a public road knowing it was more likley to kill a passing civilian than any one else.

You dont know the people killed you dont know why they were in Afghanistan 3 ISAF members could be any one they could be soldiers or they could be nurses assisting at a local hospital. So sad some one could so gleefully greet the death of another.

Edit the *** in the post is the word d o t i am unsure why the filter flags it.

People here know nothing about IED..........

IED kill more, way more Afghani than American or even ISAF troop.

Most people who set those IED don't know what they were doing. Some exploded right in front of their face.
Some got triggered when children play on the side of the road or when local man drive thru with a truck. About 2-5% of those IED really got the ISAF/US soldier.

In one tour, me and my unit have defused 500+ IED, I stop counting them after hitting 500.

IED is an enemy of Afghani, not just ISAF troop

We were told about Iraqi IEDs before we landed in Kuwait City, that fanatical Iraqi soldiers who were assigned to stay behind would conduct guerrilla warfare using this tactic. Back then we had very little experience with IEDs, we did not even call them with those initials, just the politically incorrect 'booby traps'. We ran into a few unexploded ordnances, but that was about it.

Anyway...The cowards on this forum who cheers for the IEDs do not care for that figure. They are 'keyboard warriors' in the worst context of the slur. They are safe wherever they are and they never will do anything more dangerous than running a safety razor across their faces. If 100 Afghan/Iraqi civilians must be killed in order to get just one US/ISAF trooper, that is an equation they are willing to live with, in safety, of course.

Great news. Usually those Western occupiers don't die easily because they are well equipped. Three deaths usually means at least two times more are seriously injured. I have yet to hear more about the 11 soldiers pretending to be civilians who were captured by the Taliban.

Hopefully Afghans can take out more of these American trash and free their country.
